1991 that the station's 11 PM newscast has earned a second-

place finish. This November sweep also represents the

first time “CBS 2 News This Morning” finished second in

A25-54 since at least 1988. Sign on/sign off, CBS 2 finished

as the #2 station for the fourth straight major sweep

period in a row. WCBSTV.com remains the fastest growing

In Los Angeles, KCBSTV

sign on/sign off in HHs with

year-to-year growth of 8 percent. CBS 2 News at 5 AM

(up 100% in HHs versus November 2006) and 6 AM (up

44%) finished the sweep as the two fastest-growing newscasts

in the market. Meanwhile, sister station KCAL 9

PM newscasts as well as its 8:00-11:00 PM news block.

In Chicago, CBS 2 finished the

November sweep ranked #2 sign on/

sign off for the first time since 1990.

The strong finish was spurred by

growth in key time periods, including

News is the fastest growing morning news in the market,

up 50% year-to-year from

5-6 AM, and +71% from 6-7 AM. In Primetime, CBS 2

ranked #2 with year-to-year growth of 10%. At 10 PM,

the November sweep in its

strongest #2 position since the introduction of Local

People Meters in 2005. The newscast posted its largest

margin of victory over third place NBC since that time,

and was just two HH share points behind ABC. CBS 3’s

late news was the only weekday late news in the market

to show growth in HHs (up 9%) and key demographics

since May -- A25-54 (up 4%) and W25-54 (up 2%).

The performance of Eyewitness News at 11 PM this

November demonstrates a sizeable shift from November

2006 when NBC was #2 in A25-54. CBS 3 was #1 in

prime time.

Is there any reason why you needed 7 different posts?

Is there any reason you couldn't just let it go?

I guess we haven't had any new ideas for Weather Channel mocks recently, have we?

Actually, yes, I have, plenty. I've just not shared them here... however, I've shared them elsewhere.

Anybody have Fort Wayne, IN numbers. I know it isnt' an O&O, but I'd be curious with only seemingly 2 operations in town with WANE (CBS) and Indiana's Newscenter (ABC/NBC). I'm sure WANE held the #1 across the board, but I'm curious if they continued to take viewers and grow.

Sounds like 5, 6, and 11pm news a bit weak given no mention of newscast growth. Not a fan of that amusement park set.

year-to-year growth of 8 percent. CBS 2 News at 5 AM
