  1. That's what ADA accommodations are for. Spin it all the way you want and such but there are legal protections both from federal, state, and local levels that provide protections to protected workers. Bill is a protected class as a senior citizen with a disability. Same as the unnamed people who we will never know. Disney has to comply with local laws and if the other workers are not extended the same "courtesy" that you are lauding about, they can sue and win for discrimination. While I may not be well versed in Disney's CBA for WABC employees, I do know about STD, LTD, FMLA, LoA, NY Paid Family Leave and others because at one point in my career, I was protected by NY State Law when I was based for work in New York City.
  2. With one poster calling out WABC and saying that Bill should've retired into the sunset, and I bet haven't considered: the cost of health insurance. Yes, Bill could be on Medicare, but what you pay on Medicare is dependent on what you earn. I wouldn't be surprised that Disney/ABC accommodated Bill with this special correspondent position so he can continue with Disney's health insurance and Medicare/Medicare Advantage if he has one. Let's not forget that we aren't a country with universal health insurance for everyone and as Bill pointed out, treatment for Alzheimer/Dementia is very, very expensive.
  3. Very sad. My dad is suffering from dementia, so this announcement made me very sad.
  4. The Onion outdid themselves today. I wouldn't put anything past AIPAC Bari though. https://theonion.com/bari-weiss-attempts-to-boost-ratings-by-kidnapping-tony-dokoupils-mom/
  5. More clown shows from Channel 4. Why god.
  6. AIPAC Bari strikes again. And will punch out soon.
  7. AIPAC Bari Waste, as I like to call her, needs to go. But sadly it won't happen. CBS News is officially state media. RIP CBS News and 60 Minutes.
  8. Not surprised about Weiss pushing out Patta. Patta's reporting shed a big light on the crimes committed by Bibi's government against Gazans.
  9. Evening News not happy about it.
  10. https://www.adweek.com/tvnewser/cbs-files-new-response-to-dismiss-president-trumps-lawsuit/
  11. CBS Evening News sees more ratings growth in total viewers; slightly down on A25-54. Down -3% YoY.
  12. The Evening News Plus should be carried by the network as well. Both half hours compliment each other and feels more complete than the 30 minute broadcast imho. Has more substance and more day of news. Could be an area that CBS could have a competitor to PBS NewsHour and maybe force NBC and ABC to follow along with the change.
  13. God I wish they would reunite Velshi & Ruhle on Primetime
  14. This is what happens always. The viewers always yell "gee we want a quality newscast". You give them an excellent broadcast and then they are like "lol sike not like that".
  15. John Dickerson is the Harry Smith/Anthony Mason of CBS in this era
