  1. Any idea if the plan is for Liz to permanently be solo at 6pm? If not, what’s the word on who is likely to get the spot?
  2. Definitely worth mentioning his announcement on the national level, but did the need to mention on GMA Saturday and GMA Monday, as well as WNT Friday and WNT Monday?
  3. Pretty sure it was a one off since Philly was hosting its first World Cup game this year. I believe she had also been off the past two weeks. Trish Hartman has on occasion also sat alongside him, as has Sharrie.
  4. I could tell that something was off with him the last few months. He seemed a little frail and forgetful. And then when Liz was off they started having subs. Hopefully treatments help and the progression is extremely slow. Curious as to who will succeed him at 6pm. On airtime alone, Sandra would appear to be the choice as she is only on for 1 hour each day, whereas Liz, Sade, and Mike all are on 1.5 hours, and David is on 2 hours. David, however, seems to be the most frequent fill-in. And I wouldn’t rule Mike out either.
  5. Already mentioned a few posts prior.
  6. Honestly think a better use of their resources is to shift Siafa to the mornings with Janelle and let Natasha handle afternoons/evenings with Ukee. I never understood the appeal of Siafa.
  7. https://www.crossingbroad.com/news/trending/at-least-the-eyewitness-news-president-and-general-manager-isnt-bullshitting-anybody/?fbclid=IwdGRleASSYYZleHRuA2FlbQIxMQBzcnRjBmFwcF9pZAo2NjI4NTY4Mzc5AAEeWSHF0twTOSTCasfRWDvxfiQGhQuIv6qGAANag3GbpmSK59GWPyS0hV26QPI_aem_nzO5XRIswHUOUomqBe_ozQ Apparently they have found Jim Donovan’s replacement …. Jan Carabello will add Wed-Fri duties alongside Janelle, while remaining on weekends. Janelle will host solo on Mondays and Tuesdays.
  8. NBC would be wise to pick her up, or if ABC would consider it, bring her back.
  9. I have always said the best team is the weekend morning team. Michelle, Dani, Perry (and formerly Pedro), and frequent fill-in Toni have the right personalities and chemistry for a morning show. I like Shirleen and Brittany but, like Mike who used to be on with them prior, feel their personalities are too dry for the mornings.
  10. Apparently Chris Sowers announced on his Facebook live last night that he and his family are moving back to a South Jersey in June. Curious if 6 would welcome him back. They could give him weekday mornings and promote Karen to 10am and 12noon. Alternatively, give him back weekend mornings, send Peyton to WABC (as it’s a matter of time before Sam is completely out the door).
  11. He appears to be frail and his mind not as sharp as it used to be. I imagine that’s why he now has a co-anchor for Up Close and why he no longer anchors solo at 6pm when Liz is off.
  12. Pretty sure they knew internally at 6 that he was leaving (although not public) when Peyton was brought on.
  13. Incorrect. John worked at WNBC prior to joining WPIX the first time. Craig worked at WNYW prior to joining WPIX. Regardless, what makes you think Nexstar cares about legacy anchors? Take a look at what’s happening at their stations across the nation.
  14. Pretty sure John and Craig were both there for at least 20 years to consider them legacy status. That legacy status didn’t help them keep their job.
  15. Kendis was laid off. My point is if you’re going to pay the big bucks to bring in network talent, then have them work more than one show. Surprised Kaity hasn’t been given the pink slip the way they’ve been giving them out.
