Curious to know if she will still be doing the local cut ins on the days that she’s also handling the national weather.
-
Is the goal for Craig to still be a part of the third hour, or will they slowly transition him off and replace him there? Do they plan on bringing in a third “news anchor” (Craig’s previous role) or is Carson now filling that role?
-
If you read the article, the weekend version will be lighter fare, so there should be no heated arguments. I get it’s not your cup of tea, but the ratings and ad money still make it worth continuing the show.

https://tvnewscheck.com/journalism/article/cbs-news-and-stations-adds-meteorologists-expands-ar-vr-tech/ For those concerned about John Elliott going away, by the sounds of this article sounds like he is staying put and taking on CBS Mornings Saturday duties.
-
I’ve already lost track of who is on when. Do they even have set schedules?
-
Wonder if that period where they were rotating Brittany and Peyton doing 10am and 12noon was a tryout to promote one of them there permanently, with the other and Robert being the weekenders. Having 4 meteorologists for weekdays only seems excessive to me, unless there’s an upcoming departure we don’t know about. 6 is known for hiring people’s replacements before they’re gone.

You don’t have to refer to me as ”the one person”, you can mention me by name. And I wouldn’t call it an obsession. That’s ironic coming from a board full of people with weird obsessions. Kudos to her for subbing twice at noon within a short period. I will try not to mention it ever again since some of you get butt hurt at the site of it.
-
I get what you are both saying. The complaint here isn’t that someone is off though, it’s that someone who is working couldn’t bother to anchor an additional hour.
-
He did anchor solo today at noon. Liz was on at 4pm and Sandra at 5pm, so Liz must’ve hit her quota of fill-ins at noon for the month.
-
Seems it was because they were short staffed today. Mike, who normally has off on Friday AM, anchored in both the morning and 10am, in addition to 11pm. Lauren, who usually subs at noon only, was also on at 10am. Sandra, in addition to filling in at 5pm and 11pm for Sade, was also on at 4pm for David.
-
Just to clarify with regards to Sade, I wasn’t saying they should her push her aside. I was saying she herself should make the choice to step aside and focus on her health. As for Liz, I understand that her contract might say that, but who needs an overpaid anchor who is not flexible? Not really an attractive situation when her contract is up for renewal.
-
I know this may be an unpopular opinion, but maybe it is time for both Sade and Liz to step aside. I feel like Sade has been out more than she has been in the past few years. Although she is a great anchor, perhaps it is time for her to step aside and focus on her health. As for Liz, she’s the #2 behind Sade, yet she apparently is too good to be a team player and fill in at Noon or 11pm. Not someone I would want on my team, even if they are great at what they do. Kudos to Sandra for sticking it out on the weekends all those years and stepping up when management needed her to.

Could Jeff Glor be his successor?
-
Might she be added as Walter’s co-anchor on weekend evenings?
-
All valid points. She’s good at what she does. But I feel it’s people like this that are looked at first when budget cuts need to be made.
-
Is there a reason that Liz hardly subs on the noon or 11 PM newscasts? It seems that every time Sade is out (which seems like it’s often and is a discussion for another post), they need to re-shuffle the chairs, with Sandra filling Sade‘s spots, and weekenders and reporters filling Sandra’s spot.
-
Congratulations to Chuck! I know I’ve mentioned this before, but I feel like he should’ve did this a few years ago. He’s not the same anchor that he was 10 years ago. Would love to see Sue come back to co-anchor his last newscast. I assume David will be named co-anchor, putting him and Natalie at 4pm, 6pm, 7pm, and 11pm, while keeping Adam and Gilma at 11am and 5pm. But I wonder if it makes sense to put Adam and Gilma at 11 AM, 4 PM, and 6 PM, With David and Natalie at 5 PM, 7 PM, at 11 PM, making their on air time more even.

The international version of the channel “USA” is known as “Universal TV”, so it is odd that it will no longer be under the NBCUniversal banner. I too agree that it would’ve made sense to keep USA, MSNBC, and CNBC, and spin off everything else, but what do I know?
-
Perhaps he’s being shifted to handle noon and one of the evening shows to ease the burden off Lonnie, since Lonnie will also be handling duties on the mothership.
-
Just curious on a few things. Has Michelle ever been considered for any openings or is she comfortable on weekend AM? What about Toni Yates? Seems like she is the main weekend AM fill-in but no where else. Lastly, Lauren Glassberg. Was there any thought to putting her on weekend evenings, or is her anchor role only as a fill-in?

This is the 4th week in a row that Karen has been on the morning show but not at 10am. She is still in the open, but is left out of the close and no one is mentioned as being “in” for her. It seems like they’re moving towards a system where in addition to weekend AM, Peyton does Mon/Tues 10am and 12noon, and Brittany in addition to her weekend PM duties, does Wed-Fri 10am and 12noon.

NBC Considering Giving 10pm/9pm Back To Affiliates
TVNewsLover replied to Georgie56's topic in General TV
I wonder if it makes sense to have local news on at 10pm, run national news at 10:30pm (perhaps ABC News Live Prime, NBC Top Story, CBS Daily Report), and have the late night talk shows come on at 11pm. I also think this would be an opportunity for the central and mountain time zones to have the same airing times from 8 to 10 PM, and let them program the 7 PM hour with syndicated fare. -
The Fox 29 News/Good Day Philadelphia Thread
TVNewsLover replied to Jess's topic in Philadelphia News
I wonder if the reruns are moving to another channel. I would not be sad if they just went away. -
I could see Sandra retiring in a few years. She’s got to be in her mid 60s. At that point, it makes the most sense to have David/Liz do Noon/5pm, with Mike/Sade doing 4pm/6pm/11pm, giving each pair 2 hours of airtime. An alternative would be swapping the 4pm and 5pm between the pairs. As far as who gets top billing, it most definitely will be Sade, because she’s been with the station longer and on those respective shows longer.

Will they look to outside to fill Pedro’s spot on weekend mornings, or will Toni or Lauren be promoted?
