NBC would be wise to pick her up, or if ABC would consider it, bring her back.

I have always said the best team is the weekend morning team. Michelle, Dani, Perry (and formerly Pedro), and frequent fill-in Toni have the right personalities and chemistry for a morning show. I like Shirleen and Brittany but, like Mike who used to be on with them prior, feel their personalities are too dry for the mornings.

Apparently Chris Sowers announced on his Facebook live last night that he and his family are moving back to a South Jersey in June. Curious if 6 would welcome him back. They could give him weekday mornings and promote Karen to 10am and 12noon. Alternatively, give him back weekend mornings, send Peyton to WABC (as it’s a matter of time before Sam is completely out the door).

He appears to be frail and his mind not as sharp as it used to be. I imagine that’s why he now has a co-anchor for Up Close and why he no longer anchors solo at 6pm when Liz is off.

Pretty sure they knew internally at 6 that he was leaving (although not public) when Peyton was brought on.

Incorrect. John worked at WNBC prior to joining WPIX the first time. Craig worked at WNYW prior to joining WPIX. Regardless, what makes you think Nexstar cares about legacy anchors? Take a look at what’s happening at their stations across the nation.

Pretty sure John and Craig were both there for at least 20 years to consider them legacy status. That legacy status didn’t help them keep their job.

Kendis was laid off. My point is if you’re going to pay the big bucks to bring in network talent, then have them work more than one show. Surprised Kaity hasn’t been given the pink slip the way they’ve been giving them out.

I’m surprised Ben and Marisol haven’t been given the pink slip yet. They only host the 10am hour. Alternatively, why not add more airtime for them, giving them more shows.

Agree Sam needs to go. I feel like he is wasting a spot at WABC too. They could really use a fifth full time meteorologist. He tries to be the third anchor on the 10am (on the days he’s on) but does a horrible job of it.

CBS does not take the same NFL approach Fox takes. I’m happy to point out AFC markets where they do not own a station and non-AFC markets where they do own a station. Both Houston and Washington are bigger markets and they would trade KDKA in smaller market Pittsburgh in a heartbeat. KDKA is also the only O&O in Pittsburgh.

Could they bring back DAYS OF OUR LIVES to the broadcast/linear/mother channel? I also don’t think it’s a bad idea for them to make a syndicated version of Password to air at 7:30.

What happened to James Gregorio, Michelle Rotella, and Brian Mendoza? Are they all gone from the weather team? Also, Robert is in the open for the 4, 5,6,7,11. What are Britney’s shifts?

Yesterday, the 4pm, 5pm were solo anchored by Kendis, and the 6pm and 10pm by Shirley.

Apparently John Bolaris and Adam Joseph have been sparring on X, this weekend being round 2. Looks like Cecily tried to play peacemaker on round 1. Got to be honest, lost a lot of respect for John Bolaris over the years, but Adam has been coming off as a pompous @$$ lately on social media, so I am kind of glad somebody put him in his place.

Didn’t he test for a talk show a few years ago? Wasn’t he a part of The Talk when it was cancelled? He has a pattern of failed talk shows and this clearly has FAILURE written all over it. They need to find someone who can balance news and entertainment to pair with Rosanna and do a test run for a national show with.

I never thought KABC and KGO would adopt WABC’s logo. I never thought KGO would adopt the EYEWITNESS NEWS name after it being associated with KPIX for decades, and KGO using the ABC 7 NEWS name for decades. The only logical explanation that I can think of is to standardize as much as possible across the owned and operated stations. That being said, I would no longer be surprised if WABC changed from “Channel 7” to “ABC 7”. However, I wouldn’t expect any changes at WPVI.

I was aware of that, but I thought KGO adopted the “eyewitness news” format along with the “Channel 7 News Scene” branding in 1970 and KTVU didn’t start using Action News until 1971. Perhaps my dates are off.

Agreed. However, I always wondered why they never picked up the Action News name back then. Sister station at the time, WXYZ, took the same approach back then but used the Action News name because WJBK, the CBS affiliate at the time, was using Eyewitness News. Same with what would become future sister station WPVI.

Bill Beutel and Roger Grimsby were a pair for almost 16 years. Your point? Just because management has gone with same-sex pairs in the past, doesn’t mean that that’s what they were looking for here. Also, the Diana Sade pairing didn’t exactly come about because there was an opening and they decided they wanted two females to anchor together. Diana decided she wanted to scale back her schedule so they moved her to the 5 PM, pairing her with the more senior anchor of Roz Abrams, and pushing aside the junior anchor of Rob Hanrahan, and then when Roz left, she was replaced by Sade who just prior was brought in without a show to anchor and displaced Lori at noon. Anyway, I didn’t say it was definitively the reason, just a possibility.
