From what I could see, it looks like only their studio cameras are in HD and nothing else yet. Yet, I do applaud them for being subtle with promoting HD unlike WCBS or KABC. Great for CBS5, I enjoy watching everytime i'm in the Bay Area. They've got some of the best newscasts in the country, even KRON, with all its schmaltziness, beats what we've got in Hellay.

That said, it could be the grainy, flat nature of those images-- they don't look like they're high quality. And what's with "Hi-Definition?" Drive-Thru isn't enough?

Comparing newscasts in SF and LA is like comparing apples to oranges. SF's newscasts definitely have a better quality to them. Not one of them seems too bad or lack quality (even KRON with their misfortunes still generates a decent product). I pity that you have to endure LA newscast as I know that the majority of them are sensational and tabloid and pretty lousy for a #2 market. Off topic, what is the situation with KNTV, aren't they planning on going HD anytime soon? I wonder how they will interpret the WNBC style HD graphics that they will most likely have?
News24/7 3 Posted February 3, 2008 Author Posted February 3, 2008 From what i've heard, KNTV will go HD toward the Games and start launching a promo campagin soon. The awsome O&O HD graphics and unfourtunatly the WNBC Music will most likley be used.
