newsie 11 Posted February 6, 2008 Posted February 6, 2008 WTKR has been doing this for about 2-3 weeks and I'm not sure why. They've added a Chevy logo bug during their forecasts. Has anyone else seen this before?
lazynetjunkie 34 Posted February 6, 2008 Posted February 6, 2008 It's just something some stations do now for a few extra dollars. A couple of the Chicago stations have been doing it for a couple years now. However, it's not up during the whole weather forecast. A company logo is usually stuck on 5/7 day forecast or some other specific weather map/graphic. In Chicago, it's usually for either Walter E. Smithe Furniture or Feldco Windows (both local companies). If this was still the 1950s or '60s, we might have a Marlboro logo on the front of the anchor desk along with our news anchors smoking Marlboro cigarettes while reading the news..
clind 2 Posted February 6, 2008 Posted February 6, 2008 Kind of slightly off topic, but do any local stations go all out and call their weather some "[company] 5-Day Forecast" or "[company] Weather Center" or whatever else?
