Sam Horn 78
We were treated to the NBC feed for most of the second half of the 9AM hour of Today. No local commercials, and we didn't get the local news until 9:59. Just the NBC feed in all its boring glory. Is this their new initiative to ensure they stay third -- on the day we get hit with the worst storm of the season? Weeters 1916
That's strange. After reading about the storm on their website you should, if anything, have lost Today and seen only local stuff. Maybe they lost power? Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/3147-what-happened-at-10-today/#findComment-28175 Share on other sites
Sam Horn 78
I thought that, but it looked like they went to the local in progress, so it seemed more like a master control issue. I dunno if you saw the 11PM news the other night where the whole newscast shit the bed and they had to take an early break with the highlight being Tim Lake ripping "the new technology". NBC 5 Chicago 191
Sounds like they are having the same problems that WMAQ had when they were transitioning into HD. Early Breaks Weather was their fall back Wrong Cameras on anchors who are reporting Packages not working ETC! Sam Horn 78
isn't WCAU master controlled out of NY? As all NBC O&Os are. Point? Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/3147-what-happened-at-10-today/#findComment-28189 Share on other sites
WCAUTVNBC10 413
isn't WCAU master controlled out of NY? Not really. The O&Os are hubbed out of New York but NY only has control of network to O&O operations (like tossing between local and national coverage). The local stations still control their day to day operations. Jess 1115
No... from what I understand, master control is based out of NYC for WCAU and I think WVIT. News control is still handled here, I think... Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/3147-what-happened-at-10-today/#findComment-28279 Share on other sites

Dave Lampstein 107
It is. That's got to be relatively inconvenient. Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/3147-what-happened-at-10-today/#findComment-28292 Share on other sites
