tyrannical bastard 3958 Posted April 25, 2008 Share Posted April 25, 2008 WKRG uses a vintage ID probably done in the 80s using the old TV5 logo; the logo zips on to the screen comically using Hanna-Barbera-ish sound effects. It looks like it may be cel animation, or possibly early CG. It has been updated with text for digital identification. As of now, it runs on Saturday mornings and during the E/I block Wednesday mornings on the digital radar sub-channel. As for kids ID's, it's a clever idea....too bad the programming sucks! Mario500 3 Posted April 25, 2008 Share Posted April 25, 2008 There are three versions of that same pink television station ID by WKRG: Shortest version ends with a “pop” sound as the red “TV” letters of the logo turn yellow. Version ends with a low piano note following the “pop” sound. Full version ends with the song “The Entertainer” following everything mentioned. I remember another (cel) animated Saturday morning station ID on TV5 with the pink TV set, but with the “5” in the station logo changing designs as music plays. That's when they started turning into a Disney-produced cartoon farm system. The last nail was when they dumped Bugs Bunny and then made it a Disney Channel farm system.
