Your watching something let's say "Price is Right" and suddenly the TV station or Network interrupts TV programming for a special report about something. What's the scariest special report theme you heard?

Me it would be these two

CBS News 1984 Special Report

CBS News Special Report 2005

Both have an end of the world cataclysmic feeling to them especially the 1984 one which was broadcasted during the end of the Cold War.

I have actually enjoyed NBC's current "Special Report" music (part four of "The Mission" theme music package and the "Meet the Preess" theme) and CBS' previous theme. You may be surprised to hear these pieces of music after your favorite TV program was interrupted, but you learn to enjoy them if you don't think about them too much.

ABC's current one is too boring.

It also needs a diffrent announcer. May I suggest Bill Rice, ABC's longtime announcer?

NBC's by far.

Agreed-- it's scary. CBS's former theme was up there, too; but the present one is less scary while still being urgent.

Everytime I hear the NBC open and the former CBS theme, I'm taken back to the Kennedy plane crash. :-(

NBC sounds creepy, but what about ABC....that informal rendition of their four-note theme, the huge globe, the gloomy colors and that Special Report font...it screams...holy crap, something really bad is going on!

Here's an example of a network cut-in from 2007 for a Presidential Speech.

What about the scariest "Special Report" slide/graphic? CBS' Bulletin slide from 1963 (when they cut away from "As The World Turns" to report on the Kennedy assassination) as well as ABC's from the '80s come to mind.
