lazynetjunkie 34
One of the big news stories here in Chicago the past couple days has been the decision of Chicago Sun-Times movie critic and former CBS 2 movie critic Richard Roeper to leave "At The Movies with Ebert & Roeper". The very next day, Chicago Sun-Times movie critic and former ABC 7 movie critic Roger Ebert has also decided to step down from the show. You can read more about it in Feder's column: http://www.suntimes.com/business/feder/1066861,feder072108.article. I think it's about time that this happened. We all know that due to Roger Ebert's health, eventhough his name is still in the title and graphics, he wouldn't be returning to the show as he was before. Ebert and Roeper worked out great together but Roeper and the fill-ins don't really work as well together. It's for the best that the show in the format as we know, the balcony with Siskel & Ebert / Ebert & Roeper, closed the curtain for good at the end of this season. RetroCirq 148
Heard they were going to turn "At the Movies" into ABC's answer to Access Hollywood, so now you have 3 networks running a PR department disguised as an entertainment news program, NBC has Access, CBS has ET/Insider, and now ABC might go with "At the Movies" and use it to plug Disney products. lazynetjunkie 34
I'm guessing production of the show is going to be moving from Chicago to LA too. I wonder if Bruce DuMont is going to try to snatch the fake balcony set for his museum? I wonder if Bruce DuMont is going to try to snatch the fake balcony set for his museum? I assumed that the show was going to be moved to Southern California too but Feder reports that the show will still be taped at the Channel 7 Studios here in Chicago.
