Mario500 3
Does either one of your local stations actually interrupt a network newscast for a special report (or "breaking news") or not air the newscast at all? WKRG and WPMI interrupted their network newscasts for weather reports, even though there was information at the bottom of the screen. WEAR has not aired the weekend editions of "World News (Tonight)" for many years.

NewsJunkie247 1
In July of 2007, WABC didn't air World News and WNBC didn't air NBC Nightly News because of that steam pipe explosion outside of Grand Central Terminal. WCBS did air the CBS Evening News at 6:30 that evening. I know this isn't evening news, but WPXI-TV in Pittsburgh doesn't air The Today Show on Saturday and Sunday morning. Instead, they air local news.
sctvhound 27
In Charleston, SC, the local news stations will find any way to preempt any program for severe weather information. Several times this year, the national newscasts have been interrupted by tornado warnings around the area, and in our market, even severe thunderstorm warnings get coverage on local TV. nbc9houston 21
In Charleston, SC, the local news stations will find any way to preempt any program for severe weather information. Several times this year, the national newscasts have been interrupted by tornado warnings around the area, and in our market, even severe thunderstorm warnings get coverage on local TV. Houston's Big 3 stations (KPRC, KHOU, KTRK) sometimes preempt the network news during severe weather events, especially when the severe weather could involve some flooding. WCNC in Charlotte (then known as WPCQ-TV) did not air the NBC Nightly News from 1982 to 1985. They opted to air the "Family Feud" instead. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WCNC-TV
Mrtraveler01 737
Anytime there is bad weather or breaking news. KCTV always preempts CBS evening news. Other stations in KC or St. Louis don't do that as much as KCTV.
who?cares 253
it's not unusual to interrupt network news, WISH interrupts for weather when ever they need to, so does WTHR, not so much WRTV, and WXIN. WTWO, WTHI, hardly ever interrupts network stuff for weather.WTWO is by far the worst for not breaking in when they should. I actually kinda like it when they interrupt, because it shows, that you can count on them if your life is at stake.
Que 73
Here in the DFW area WFAA (Belo), I would say, preempts or doesn't air network news the most. Probably considering that the other two (KXAS and KTVT) are O&Os.
