Weeters 1969 Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 The MyFOX sites are getting a "complete overhaul". The new blog software has rolled out already. I'm guessing it has something to do with the new O&O package that launched in LA the other day
Ntropolis 599 Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 LIN has agreed to go with this. http://www.lintv.com/news/images/PDFs/news_releases/LIN%20TV%20and%20FOX%20Interactive%20Media%20Announce%20Strategic%20Relationship%20-%2010-20-08.pdf WPRI and WALA already rolled out the new look... visit their sites (fox10tv.com for WALA... not myfoxgulfcoast) for a sense of what the new MyFOX and LIN sites will look like.
WANEFan 1 Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 LIN has agreed to go with this. http://www.lintv.com/news/images/PDFs/news_releases/LIN%20TV%20and%20FOX%20Interactive%20Media%20Announce%20Strategic%20Relationship%20-%2010-20-08.pdf WPRI and WALA already rolled out the new look... visit their sites (fox10tv.com for WALA... not myfoxgulfcoast) for a sense of what the new MyFOX and LIN sites will look like. WISH also has the new website design, too. Thank god LIN is ditching WorldNow... WANE's WorldNow site never worked right. Videos never showed up, content got lost, and Mac users got treated like second-class citizens. Example: After WANE switched from Windows Media Player to Adobe Flash Player, they still had the notice for Mac users to "download Windows Media Player for Mac" (which Microsoft no longer offers or supports) after you clicked on a video (and no, Flip4Mac didn't work). Also, Mac users can't create a membership, contribute to First News, or do the polls because "this feature is not supported for your system configuration" (oddly enough, changing the user agent from Safari for Mac to to Safari for Windows overrides the settings). Hopefully the new website design will change that...
PitCleTV 9 Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 I hope this means WJW will have more video on the site. It really pisses me off!
who?cares 255 Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 i dont like it, i like they other sites better.
tyrannical bastard 4036 Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 Finally, WALA's online identity crisis is over!
Weeters 1969 Posted November 7, 2008 Author Posted November 7, 2008 I noticed WLUK has switched to the new format as well, with a different version of the domain name (http://www.fox11online.com/). Could the "MyFOX" branding be a thing of the past?
jestbiteme 13 Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 I find this amusing: I googled WLUK, and was prompted to click on to http://www.fox11online.com/myfox/ ... which contains the content belonging to WISH's homepage. Whatever content is displayed, the look is much more cohesive and pleasing. Easy to navigate, too.
kjohnson 17 Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 Nice redesign. Wonder when the LocalTV Fox stations will get the new look...
lpzml09 0 Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 I cant wait the myfox sites are hard to find what you looking for the new design looks great and easy to navigate. Can't wait for Fox Chicago to Change.
NewsProducer 0 Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 The re-design looks great! The original myfox sites were terrible.
TrfRptr 3 Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 The new LIN sites are ok, WANE.com is an upgrade from the previous page which was cluttered. Not sure how it's better for MAC users though.
newsie 11 Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 So far, the LIN sites appear to mediocre at best, in my opinion. Can't say much about WAVY's, very, very bland.
ColumbusNewsFan 217 Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 Can't say much about WAVY's, very, very bland. Which is trying to look likes the new NBC O&0 site. Which is a BAD idea.:bang:
eyewitness_news 5 Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 Which is trying to look likes the new NBC O&0 site. Which is a BAD idea. But on the bright side, at least the heading STILL reads WAVY.com, NOT NBCHamptonRoads.com!
Ntropolis 599 Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 Still leaps and bounds better than WorldNow... and a bit better than the Belo sites.
