bixpchiphead 105
Bill Bonds, John Kelly and Marilyn Turner co-anchored a special edition of WXYZ-TV's "Action News @7" to celebrate Channel 7's 60th anniversary. qunewsguy 377
No doubt about it, Bill's getting up there. But the classic style was still there. I enjoyed watching. Only in Detroit would you see something this inspiring! Bill Bonds anchors again! Sure he seems much older now, but nevertheless an inspiration. No one would ever do this. eastcoasttvnews 1
Thanks so much for sharing that link! I just watched all 4 parts and it just flew by...didn't even seem like 22 minutes. Bill's commentary was solid. Great stuff! Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/4570-reunion-wxyz-newscast/#findComment-42745 Share on other sites
WickedYoungMan 0
No one would ever do this. For what it's worth, WTHR in Indianapolis did something like this a few years ago as well. WAVY 10 Fan 233
Never heard of this concept before, but it doesn't seem like a bad idea, as long as it was in a special time slot instead of a regular newscast. I think WKYC turns 60 at the end of October. They should do something like that.
