Ending analog broadcasting early

We all know that the Wilmington, N.C. television market was the first to end all analog broadcasting and is doing all-digital.

However, while watching the NFL on FOX on WVUE, I saw a commercial that said WVUE will end its analog broadcasting services on December 15 and broadcast digitally only.

Any stations in your area that are doing the DTV switch before Feb. 2009?

I know none of the Chi-Town stations are dropping the NTSC's early but some stations in other markets would.

Let's See.....

WZMY is turning off their analogs a week from Monday. Hawaii stations will ceased their analogs on 1/15 because of the Galapados Petrel breeding season happening that following month.

That's all I can think of now.

WAKA in Montgomery is signing off Channel 8 around December 1st. This is so they can activate their new digital facility on channel 42. They are currently broadcasting digitally on Channel 55. This may also affect WEIQ Mobile's analog broadcasting on channel 42.

the cw station in Albany, WCWN, is "reducing their analog signal" on Dec. 1st...but I'm not sure what that means...it is ending it 100% or what??

I guess that means their reducing their analog power strength, while they build their digital facilities, then they'll cut-off that analog in its entirely.

I have a hunch that some stations are reducing their analogue signal so those who have not already switched over are forced to do so in time for the mandated shut-off.
