former newsboy 52 Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 This simply cannot go unmentioned on here any longer. Carol Fowler has been named WFLD news director. In fact, today was her first day. How do u like dem apples? Chalk it up to her long ties to station boss Pat Mullen and Fox executive Dennis Swanson, but can you say Peter Principle?! Amazing. It won't be long before Joe Ahern's back running ABC 7. BTW, Andrew Finlayson moves up the Fox Stations corporate ladder as director of online content and business development. In case u missed it, here's Rosenthal: http://www.chicagotribune.com/business/columnists/chi-fri-phil-rosenthal-23jan23,0,7151831.column And Lazare: http://www.suntimes.com/business/lazare/1393121,CST-FIN-lew23.article

lazynetjunkie 34 Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 Not long before Joe Ahern is back running WLS/ABC 7? lol...are you on crack? I'm sure he was being sarcastic too, but really, if Ahern went back to WLS, you wouldn't see anything change. The place is still pretty much run the same way he ran the joint over a decade ago. The current Pres/GM just continued on what Ahern started only making updates/adjustments as needed.
Link 3 Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 Who cares, Fox Chicago News is NOT the most powerful name in local news in Chicago--what a joke that slogan is.
