Jodi Applegate to News 12 Long Island?

TV Spy is reporting that Jodi Applegate will move to News 12 Long Island...

Contrary to some recent reports of an Applegate sighting in Philadelphia, it looks like Jodi is headed to Cablevision on Long Island.

Applegate left Fox 5 New York several months ago after being replaced on Good Day New York by 10PM co-anchor Rosanna Scotto.

I have it on excellent authority that she has been hired by Cablevision's News12 Long Island to anchor the evening and night newscasts. That would be 5-6p with Scott Feldman with whom she did a "screen test" two weeks ago.

Applegate would also anchor the 7pm headlines, 8pm broadcast and 10:30p.m. newscast.

The word is that Applegate starts February 23.

Nice interview with Jodi in today's Daily News, although I don't think her "getting fired" had as much to do with the economy as it did with RATINGS. So she's being more than a little disingenuous here......

A quote in there from Ron Corning, absent from TV for almost a year now! When and where will HE turn up next, we wonder?

She said it correctly, she was fired. It was the producers, not her or the ratings. I know it's impossible, but they should go back to the Jim Ryan and ensemble format. The station owned NY/NJ for years with that format.

Jodi mentions the house, dog , fireplace etc. What happened to her hubby?

It's hard to find the a team that has so much chemistry together. Relationships have to brew. The Jim Ryan, Dave Price, Lynn Brown, Mario Bosquez era of Good Day NY was enjoyable to watch. Ever since them, there hasn't been a decent team or anchor on Good Day.

Or on any station, local or network. That's why I said it would be almost imposssible. But they should try. I know FOX is usually the launching pad for careers, so they can get people.
