CBS2LuvsU 0 Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 Just got word of this today. WCCO has released Jeanette Trompeter as a sign of the struggling economic times. Here is the story from wcco.com http://wcco.com/press/jeanette.trompeter.wcco.2.960319.html
Geoffrey 873 Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 Wow, that's amazing that they actually reported this and are even offering a way for viewers to send her their well wishes.
alaskanews 122 Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 Maybe she'll go back to Des Moines, she was a superstar there
Que 73 Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 Wow, that's amazing that they actually reported this and are even offering a way for viewers to send her their well wishes. I was thinking the same thing. Most stations cut the person and never mention them again.
abric 181 Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 You can see how choked up Frank was reporting the news of his co-anchor's dismissal.
Jess 1116 Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 From everything I've seen, WCCO is a class act through and through. While this is painful, they handled it extremely admirably.
KRAP-TV 146 Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 She must be one hell of an anchor. I was initially under the impression she had been at WCCO for a long time (like, at least a decade). Everyone speaks so highly of her personally and professionally. I'm sure she'll land on her feet somewhere.
alaskanews 122 Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 in this economy nothing is certain. In this business nothing is certain... Which reminds me, I should probably update my resume tape...
NewsMan 0 Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 She must be one hell of an anchor. I was initially under the impression she had been at WCCO for a long time (like' date=' at least a decade). Everyone speaks so highly of her personally and professionally. I'm sure she'll land on her feet somewhere.[/quote'] Only a few but she was very good and well loved by the viewers. It wasn't a WCCO decision, it was a corporate decision.
TexasFury 0 Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 Our station wouldn't even acknowledge the 41 years of service of a recently laid off weatherman. That's how petty Barrington is.
