Geoffrey 873 Posted April 3, 2009 Posted April 3, 2009 I know the transition to HD is not easy, but I'm surprised that they didn't make the switch when they moved to 30 Rock a year and a half ago. Especially since NBC Nightly News was able to do HD on the other side of the newsroom. Isn't it easier to make the switch when you're building a new studio and control room and before you're actually using the facility?
ProButtonPusher 230 Posted April 3, 2009 Posted April 3, 2009 Control room could have already been HD..it just may have been a problem with their satellite up links and master control, among other small things that need to be done before the transition. They probably came into the building with all HD equipment, just no way to put it "on the air".

newsie 11 Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 'Bout time, I guess. I assumed they were going HD along with Nightly News, but that obviously didn't happen. Wonder if a new look is coming with it...
