Well, that's two minutes of my life I won't get ever get back.

Almost as bad, but no quite, is the midday "Ag Report" anchor on our competition (actually the midday news is a state-wide broadcast on the Evening Post Publishing Co. cluster). The. girl. quite. obvious. took. diction. because. she. ennunciates. every. word. that. comes. out. of. her. mouth.

Simply stunning. What the heck was she doing with her hand?

At first I thought the video was several years old, but I picked up enough context during the few minutes I managed to watch to realize that it's actually pretty recent.

Isn't that cluster the "Montana Television Network"? KXGN probably makes those stations look good. :p

KXGN only carries "Montana's Morning News" from the MTN, which is produced out of Billings. They may submit a story or two to MTN, but I doubt it (based on the video posted). They are not owned by the cluster, however.

MTN is the network of CBS affiliates in Montana owned (with the exception of KXGN) by Cordillera/Evening Post Publishing (which also owns WLEX-Lexington, KY among others). The Montana cluster is KRTV-Great Falls, KXLH-Helena (an LP satellite of KR), KTVQ-Billings, KBZK-Bozeman, KXLF-Butte, KPAX-Missoula and K18AJ-Kalispell (an LP satellite of KPAX).

All are branded under the "Montana's News Station" brand and have the same graphics, music, and nearly identical sets.

Their look is...ok...sort of a mash-up of the Liberty graphics package and the graphics WSMV-Nashville used during the "Seize The Day" music era. Music is 615's "Impact."

KR's over-all presentation is quite lacking. Very plodding and slow and I don't think they are quite staffed to the levels we are, and we're a small operation. They benefit being #1 because KFBB didn't really put up much of a fight until lately (KTGF, the indy station and former NBC affiliate and KBGF, the LP satellite of "Beartooth NBC" in Helena were/are both non-factors).
