KCNC had some great stuff....maybe some of the best news opens of all time:

Image X has to be one of the most underrated packages of all time as well....(along with Spirit News, KCNC's later theme)

Does everyone else agree?

Personally....they are typical of bland early-mid 90s graphics after local TV budgets were cut. Flat with no depth, and very cluttered as the artist tries to beak his record for simultaneous layers. White never struck me as a wise choice for a television graphic background.

I prefer graphics that enhance the qualities unique to television -- adding depth to the screen and light effects that play to the 'glow' of a TV set. Fortunately today the technology to accomplish that is widespread and relatively cheap.

But taste is a personal, and subjective matter. Those KCNC graphics certainly don't pass as amaeturish and I'm sure others will agree with you.

They're better than the open they had before the switch:

The music there (Image IX) is among my favorite packages, and I feel it still holds up a bit. Can't say the same about the visuals here. This open's successor I feel has stood the test of time better.
