The classy, more dignified FOX affiliates

There are FOX affiliates out there that are more classy and a lot more dignified. The only one I can think of is KTVU Channel 2 in the California Bay Area (San Francisco, San Jose and Oakland).

The News Opens with powerful voice-over, beautiful animation and graphics and orchestral theme music

Station ID with FOX at the end

Unlike the other FOX affiliates: there is no theme music with in-your-face beats and swooshing sound effects, no tabloid-style graphics, not even sensationalism in reporting.

WALA seems relatively "classy"....same for KCPQ.

Those two popped up into my mind while I was making my post!

I agree that it seems like all the New World FOX stations were "classy" in the years after they switched affiliation. You'd never guess this would be a FOX station today:

The KDFW clip was after becoming a FOX network O&O in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, after years of being a CBS affiliate owned by another company. The Aurora package from 615 Music is what I'm hearing, and for a FOX O&O, this was a more dignified piece of music.

Another station - and KDFW's sister station (which is also a former CBS affiliate) - is WAGA in Atlanta from 1994.

The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra did a rendition of Eddie Horst's WAGA theme. The theme music was to reflect the WAGA's switch from CBS to FOX, but also the FOX Network's purchase of Channel 5.

Another dignified theme music, next to 615 Music Aurora package, only having the network news quality (i.e. John Williams' NBC News theme).

And now, the Atlanta Symphony for the new FOX-5 Eyewitness News Primetime

That's what I mean. In the several years after becoming FOX, the New World stations kept their "refined" identities before switching to "flashy" looks (most of them picked up Outlaw News or Magnum). For example, WTVT retained the "Eyewitness News" title.

I think that's the only one...

WXMI is the only one I can think of that comes close to "refined":

For WXMI's news open and graphics, FOX17 adopted the graphics and animation from the SO FOX campaign.

Let's not forget WDRB FOX41 News (Louisville, KY):

The first clip of Various TV Newscast Open, Part 39 from NewsActive3 Channel on YouTube.

It features Bold Horizons from Sample Music, A dignified News Open, and No Flashy Graphics.
