Have other stations been doing this for a whole newscast? WCBS is the only station that comes to my mind when I think of stations having anchors do coverage from the scene of a major news story or outside during a weather event. They have done this for years. For example, they had Jim Rosenfield anchor from Queens during a major power outage in the summer of 2006 and currently Chris Wragge (and more recently Kristine Johnson) usually anchor from the field a lot. Think of all the times you've seen Peter Jennings, Tom Brokaw, Dan Rather, Charlie Gibson, Diane Sawyer, Brian Williams, Katie Couric, Matt Lauer, etc. anchor their respective newscasts from Washington, London, Iraq, Afghanistan, Haiti, Los Angeles, Columbine, Oklahoma City, New Orleans, or wherever a big story is taking place.
