C Block 1494
Dennis Leonard, the idiot who was the GM as KDVR Fox-31 and KWGN "the Deuce" (CW-2) merged, announced that he's stepping down, and his replacement, the GM from WTVR in Richmond, is hinting that he wants to do away with the hip Deuce brand. Should be an interesting time for the two stations. More details: http://bit.ly/9Kb5JC
Ntropolis 593
I liked the short-lived circle "2" branding that was used before The Deuce... shame it didn't last long.
C Block 1494
^^^ Yes, that was a nice branding. I heard it was designed in-house and that the design team (most of whom are now unemployed) had a lot of fun making it. Hopefully something like that comes back. It's such a shame that all of the history of KWGN was flushed away with the Deuce.
tw-804 190
They're dropping "The Deuce" branding? Thank goodness.
C Block 1494
They're dropping "The Deuce" branding? Thank goodness. I see you're from Richmond. What do you think of WTVR's operations? I'm asking because WTVR's general manager is moving to KDVR/KWGN.
jero23 105
Interesting thing is Dennis Leonard was the long time GM of former KDVR sister station WBRC where they were #1 for a decade and some change.
C Block 1494
Here are some more recent developments. KDVR/KWGN is considering adding another newscast. I don't know at what time or on which channel it would air, but if I had to guess, I would think they would bring back a midday newscast. More info: http://bit.ly/cYbEkh Also, Good Day Colorado anchor Peggy Bunker left the station today. She was on air this morning, and her bio was pulled from the website by this afternoon. I think this is really odd. More info: http://bit.ly/ddHYpQ
