"Self-proclaimed TV news "bad boy" Vince DeMentri is once again in the spotlight for the wrong reason after slapping a chauffeur to the Bahamian UN ambassador during a parking-spot flap, police said.

 

The WPIX/Channel 11 reporter...surrendered to the NYPD Thursday night and was booked for assault, police said...

 

Senanayake, 54, claims he was waiting to pick up Ambassador Paulette Bethel at Third Ave. and E. 41st St. when DeMentri pulled up and went nuts because he couldn't get a spot in a press-only zone, police said...

 

DeMentri, 46, was given a desk appearance ticket for third-degree assault, police said.

 

His lawyer did not return a call last night...

 

More recently, DeMentri had to give an on-air correction after the Port Authority called him out over an erroneous story."
