mightynine 290 Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 Is this something other Tribune stations are doing?
SterlingNorth 33 Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 Is this something other Tribune stations are doing? I believe Trib's KPLR (St Louis) has been doing this for a year, at least (while airing the news from 7-8pm central).
channel2 982 Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 KWGN's been doing it since March 2009, airing an awful 7:00PM newscast in an attempt to look totally rad and groovy.
kjohnson 17 Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 Luckily, KPLR isn't trying the "hip" formula. They tried that in the in the late 90s. Epic fail on that. In KPLR's and KWGN's case, the newscasts moved to keep from competing with their FOX stablemates (old news for most). What's making WNOL do it? Other than the horrid schedule of programs?
eyewitness_news 5 Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 Apparently, the time zone had a lot to do with this programming change by Tribune. By pushing CW programming back an hour, the CW primetime schedule would now have to start at 8:00 p.m. CST (that's 9:00 p.m. EST).
