ybYellow 2
Sorry to bump such an old thread, but there's some new information regarding this story. Apparently, people from Belo, Nexstar, and Citadel have toured the station. The station employees had a meeting today, which is rumored to be exposing the stalking horse bidder. http://blog.btvn.net/2011/02/09/btvn-exclusive-new-details-in-wlne-sale-emerge/ Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/6622-wlne-bankrupt-in-receivership/page/2/#findComment-64537 Share on other sites
ybYellow 2
And Citadel Communications (not to be confused with the radio operator of a similar name) has been named the stalking horse with a bid of $4,000,000... Samantha 2895
WLNE would be a true black cat in Citadel's portfolio. You'll recognize little Citadel if you watch ABC in Sioux City, Lincoln, or Des Moines or CBS in the Quad Cities. Providence is not the Midwest by any stretch of the imagination. eyewitness_news 5
Why Tribune would consider buying WLNE is beyond me. They already own Fox CT and WCCT here in Connecticut. But they COULD also own WLNE since they sold Boston's WLVI to Sunbeam, owner of WHDH and Miami's WSVN, in 2006.
