anchorman 96 Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 Wow. He's a good reporter, too. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens.
njlady 1 Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 Maybe channel 11 will hire him next to Larry Mendt
SuitSnob 19 Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 In these cases, I do believe the person is innocent until proven guilty. Unless it is something like he lured a child into a car and drove off into the woods or something blatant like that. But frequently in these cases (especially when the child is that young and can be manipulated) the kid can be impressionable and made to make a general claim (this happens a lot in divorce/ child custody proceedings). Until some verifiable evidence appears, I say reserve judgment....it is just easy to throw an accusation of sexual harassment or molestation at people to make them an instant pariah. If he is truly guilty however-throw the book at him!
TellyGenic 33 Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 Sorry, SuitSnob, but apparently this isn't the first time Leaf has done this. His own sister reports a history of abuse: http://www.nydailynews.com/news/ny_crime/2010/10/10/2010-10-10_fox_perv_abused_kin_says_sister.html
SuitSnob 19 Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 OK...I just crossed from Innocent Until Proven Guilty to Most Likely Guilty. The problem is, so many people use this kind of thing a a weapon that it is becoming a Boy Who Cried Wolf scenario. Remember when Charles Perez got accused two years ago by his ex BF and everyone wanted to railroad him, and then when the facts came out it became clear the guy was only after money and vengeance?
nynewslover 280 Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 PLEASE tell me that Fox 5 managment has fired him
SuitSnob 19 Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 No, they just fired Ron Corning and kept him.
anchorman 96 Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 More charges for Leaf: Child porn. http://www.wpix.com/news/wpix-fox5-child-porn,0,4569018.story
Giacomo Siffredi 4 Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 Former WNYW reporter Charles Leaf, now a 44 year old father of two, has been found guilty of sexually assaulting a 4-year-old girl and of possessing child pornography on his home computer in Wyckoff, NJ. A jury in Hackensack, NJ. convicted him on all charges: aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault, child endangerment, possession of child pornography and tampering with evidence. The most serious charge of aggravated sexual assault — in a word: rape — carries up to 20 years in prison, followed by lifelong parole as a Megan’s Law offender. Superior Court Judge James J. Guida revoked Leaf’s bail over the protests of defense attorney Brian Neary :bang: , and set sentencing for June 6, 2014. Bergen County Sheriff’s officers then handcuffed Leaf and took him to the Bergen County Jail. Leaf's parting words to his wife? “Tell the kids I love them!" :ack: http://cliffviewpilot.com/charles-leaf-to-wife-tell-the-kids-i-love-them-after-child-sex-assault-conviction/
