I jokingly said on another thread that this probably hadn't been a very good week for Olbermann, but man! That's pretty blatant disregarding of the ethics policy (and it's not exactly like Olbermann would be able to legitimately claim ignorance).

For the sake of our nation's political discourse, this can only be a good thing. I grew tired of KeithO's schtick after he called Scott Brown an "irresponsible, homophobic, racist, reactionary, ex-nude model, teabagging supporter of violence against woman and against politicians with whom he disagrees." That's not commentary. That's character assassination. (And keep in mind, I'm a liberal-leaning Independent.)

I've never been a fan of Olbermann...he stoops to the level of O'Reilly, making him no better than him. I like Maddow though, she's less... shouty!? I don't blame NBC for this though.

Yeah, I agree.

I used to like Mr. Olbermann when he was a sports anchor for ESPN and Fox Sports. Now and days I think of him as a politically-minded jackass who obviously can't learn how to keep his damn mouth shut.

Well if NBC gives Keith the boot, Would I be surprised about it? Hell No!!!

Let's stop and think for a moment --

Keith Olbermann was hired by MSNBC and given airtime and a primetime show to express his very obvious liberal viewpoints. Why should he then be fired for expressing those same views using his own money? You can't hire someone to not be a journalist and then hold them to same rules as a journalist.

Given the public knowledge of MSNBC president Phil Griffin and Olbermann's animosity toward each other, it seems like this is a case of office politics gone bad.

So this means Chuck Roberts can donate to Republican candidates only with CNN's approval? I have heard he is conservative.

Chuck Roberts can do whatever he wants. He left HLN.

Donating to 3 democratic candidates without NBC's approval?

But NBC is democratically biased, just like the three others (ABC, CBS and CNN), don't you think?

But nonetheless, I'm glad people like Keith Olburpmann is gone, even if it is temporarily.

No straight news, just his opinionated bulls-----t, even though Olburpmann is trying to compete against Jon Stewart.

Apparently some are wondering if this was a publicity stunt (http://johnrussell.newsvine.com/_news/2010/11/06/5418689-olbermann-suspension-smells-like-publicity-stunt). Could be, but remember Keith didn't last very long at ESPN after he was suspended from his SportsCenter duties for some remarks made about the management.

I still miss the days of the old "Countdown" when it first launched. It was actually enjoyable news watching.

I agree. I really enjoyed the show before he decided on slanting it.

As far as I can recall, I don't think CNN and ABC are biased. I've been told numerous times that CBS is left-leaning (mainly because of Dan Rather's story on Bush's military service on the now defunct "60 Minutes II/Wednesday").
