RCA TK47 277
I've noticed that since CBS has put their stations on the WordPress websites, the iPhone apps don't have any news stories anymore... at least on the KOVR Sacramento app that I'm looking at right now. I'm assuming the rest of the O&Os on the WordPress sites are having the same issue. Talk about a useless news app. Anybody else notice the same thing? Lame Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/6961-cbs-oo-iphone-apps-are-now-pretty-useless/ Share on other sites

Guest NewsHound
New York is allegedly "working on it." Lame indeed. It has a lot to do with the RSS Feed. The local news apps rely on updates of the RSS feed of the main site for their content. Without the RSS feed, the apps won't update with latest information. In this case, they probably haven't updated the RSS Feed Address in the news app, so it's not updating because the old site no longer exists. For example, the new RSS feed address for CBS Boston.com is: http://boston.cbslocal.com/feed/rss/ Originally, it was http://www.wbztv.com/feed/rss/ and although it redirects you to the new address above, the apps probably don't support URL redirect. Quite likely and a simple fix that still should not have been overlooked when the stations transitioned to WordPress.
