newsteam13 400 Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 There are a lot of CW affiliates that air their news at 10pm in markets (New York, Los Angeles, Miami and Boston), while others are broadcasting the 9pm news in other markets (Chicago, Nashville, Minneapolis/St. Paul). It doesn't make no difference if Tribune Broadcasting owns a CW affiliate or not. But, there is one Tribune-owned CW affiliate that stands out from the rest, and that affiliate is KWGN Channel 2 in Denver, Colorado. How does KWGN stand out from the others? KWGN airs their News at 7pm, and then they air the CW primetime lineup from 8pm until 10pm. They are not like WGN in Chicago, which airs the CW from 7pm until 9pm, and then airs the news at 9pm. KWGN is not like WPIX New York, either; Channel 11 airs the CW from 8pm until 10pm, and airs the PIX 11 News @ Ten
SterlingNorth 33 Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 You forget about KPLR in St Louis, which has been airing news at 7pm since 2008.
Samantha 2898 Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 And Local TV, not wanting anything to conflict with its Fox 9pm news, has moved those once-important programs to, well, 7.
newsteam13 400 Posted May 4, 2011 Author Posted May 4, 2011 And Local TV, not wanting anything to conflict with its Fox 9pm news, has moved those once-important programs to, well, 7. Who started airing the 7:00 news first? KWGN or KPLR? If so, KWGN would be staying original; it has in the past when Channel 2 shifted its 10pm news to 9pm in the late 70s
