Guest abc7miami Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 WTVT is saying good bye to their old set, and will become the first station in Tampa Bay to be broadcast in HD. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YiautvsLgTE
KKyuubi 0 Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 Please hope they don't get WTXF's graphics and they get an HD version of their current graphics... Touching, I've never seen any station do that before, especially an O&O
CDubya87 0 Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 I don't know about O&O's, but when KSN got it's current set in 2000, they made a series of touching promos describing the old one - but they never directly said what was going on. They talked about the memories they shared, the times of playing football and then breaking it by tackling it...but they never said they were getting a new set, then one day, it was just there.
10Viewer 338 Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 WTVT did a similar tribute on "Good Day Tampa Bay" in January 1999 when they dismantled the "spaceship" set from 1994. They showed video of crews removing the old desk and that kind of thing. They debuted the new (current) set after the Super Bowl in 1999. WFLA also did a similar tribute in March 2000 when they shut down their longtime 905 E. Jackson St. studios.
chopper9 0 Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 turning off the lights at the end and the music is a nice touch
Guest Junk Junk Posted March 10, 2007 Posted March 10, 2007 There was barely a mention about the new set they're constructing at- and all the new changes that are coming to WAGA. Yet WTVT has promos for their new set? I'm jealous... >

I just know it's coming, I'm starting to see ads with the new logo on MyFox Atlanta now...
Ntropolis 598 Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 Look how empty the studio gotten! So... will the new set be a newsroom set, or the set-in-a-can?
TexasTVNews 1378 Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 When the new set is done, who's going on studio tour to get pictures?
storm5guy 0 Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 When the new set is done, who's going on studio tour to get pictures? I believe the station is closed to visitors for security reasons, but if that changed, I'm sure many of us would be jumping at the chance to get in there.
Guest abc7miami Posted April 6, 2007 Posted April 6, 2007 Here are some more pictures of the new WTVT set Courtesy of Myfoxtampabay, Things are looking up! http://community.myfoxtampabay.com/photos/ViewAlbum.aspx?aid=6745&un=WTVT_Emily
Guest wfaa8fan Posted April 6, 2007 Posted April 6, 2007 If they can keep the "newsroom" backdrop, that would be rather nice, compared to the other 'over the top' backdrops seen on the other Fox O&Os.
jbrothers 1 Posted April 6, 2007 Posted April 6, 2007 I think it would be one of the best. Something new and unique unlike the other Fox O&O's.
Guest abc7miami Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 The set is now at it's finishing touches and is going to be ready to make its debut this Monday. New Pics: http://community.myfoxtampabay.com/photos/default.aspx?un=wtvtian

milklikesubstance 11 Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 View of stage right. I hope WITI gets something like this... but that probably won't happen.

Jterry 43 Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 Wow, very nice implementation of the O&O look, maybe the best out there right now.
Ntropolis 598 Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 Very nice! I also like how they kept the newsroom in there.
jhampsten 0 Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 Looks a hell of a lot better than any Fox O&O redo that I know of. if only they did that good of job to KTVI's set when they redid that last year.
Guest abc7miami Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 WTVT's New set debuts today!! Here's The website Complete with photos, time lapse construction, and a blueprint. http://media.myfoxtampabay.com/newset/
ib-td 1 Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 Watch it cfif, christians think you turn into the devil with that number!! lol 8) I think the set is pretty good. Certainly, it is better than any other in the Bay area. I was hoping for a new gfx package with the set, or new music etc., maybe later when the 2nd set and the weather area are finished.
