NewzPimpin 1 Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 Today was his last broadcast on NBC...wonder who will be weekend anchor. If it were up to me, I'd choose Ann Curry.
first on fox 18 Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 First on TVNewser: John Seigenthaler's departure from NBC News, announced on the air Sunday, is related to divison-wide budget cutbacks. The network doesn't have the luxury of a full-time weekend Nightly News anchor anymore. NBC announced "massive cuts" last October, under the "NBC U 2.0" umbrella...
NBC10 WJAR-DT 0 Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 I'm guessing it will be a different person every week...Whoever is available...
News4LA 0 Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 Maybe Lester Holt? Isn't Campbell Brown's contract up this Summer? http://www.mediabistro.com/tvnewser/nbc/campbells_contract_window_is_opening_50313.asp I wonder if she will stay and want the weekend gig.
ryinthesky9 0 Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 Lester Holt or David Gregory would be my guess.
alaskanews 122 Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 www.tvnewser.com Seigenthaler Successor To Be Named Soon Who will replace John Seigenthaler on the weekend editions of NBC Nightly News? "NBC said Monday it would name a successor soon; someone whose duties will also include weekend work at NBC or MSNBC," the AP says... > Also: "NBC's weekend newscast tops its rivals in the ratings..." > Update: "Lester Holt will be the next anchor of Weekend Nightly News. You heard it here first," a tipster says...
eyewitness_news 5 Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 Today was his last broadcast on NBC...wonder who will be weekend anchor. If it were up to me, I'd choose Ann Curry. I don't think Ann Curry is leaving Today for the Saturday/Sunday edition of NBC Nightly News. If Ann Curry becomes John Seigenthaler's successor, who will succeed Curry?
NewzPimpin 1 Posted April 3, 2007 Author Posted April 3, 2007 If it's Lester, then that would rule also. He's a class act and I'd love to see him anchoring on the national level again...
WCAUTVNBC10 413 Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 I really don't care. A flaming pile of shit would be better than Seigenthaler.
WAVY 10 Fan 233 Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 I don't know who does the NBC Nightly News V/O for Brian Williams, but it looks like the end of the last of the old V/O's featuring the late Fred Facey.
NEPA 0 Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 I really don't care. Their is nothing on NBC worth watching...
ib-td 1 Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 I really don't care. A flaming pile of shit would be better than Seigenthaler. I thought they were the same thing.

I think Don Pardo does NBC NN. No, I've heard clips on Don Pardo doing v/o for WNBC's Live at Five and the NN v/o. Trust me, it's not Pardo. Never mind, it's Howard Reig that does the NBC Nightly News v/o, but he's retired now.
NBC10 WJAR-DT 0 Posted April 8, 2007 Posted April 8, 2007 Looks like it will be on a fill-in basis from now on. They have removed the name from the logo in the opening and have a new VO person...
mbhcity 3 Posted April 8, 2007 Posted April 8, 2007 NBC Universal is broke...... No more George Michael....no more sitcoms....no more good dramas.....just pure crap now....plus Back to the Future the Ride is shutting down.
first on fox 18 Posted April 8, 2007 Posted April 8, 2007 Sweet, another Las Vegas watcher. But NBC Thursdays are still decent and I love Raines.
newsie 11 Posted April 8, 2007 Posted April 8, 2007 I really don't care. A flaming pile of shit would be better than Seigenthaler. I thought they were the same thing. LOL. I really don't care because I don't watch NBC news. IMO, I think they are a little too left winged.
