  1. In regards to inviting Lester Holt, I would assume NBC affiliates can invite and it depends on Lester's and the nets schedule if he can come. This isn't a Nexstar thing. He has been to WRAL and to KPRC among other NBC affiliates. At the end of the day, and I am being dead serious here because I am sick and tired of seeing all of this rampant speculation. NBC just like any other network is not going to just jump the shark because Nexstar is cozy with them or that Tegna is cozy with CBS. I know this year has been kind of a weird year because no one thought at all that WRAL was going to lose its CBS affiliation to WNCN. That was totally out of left field. All of this other speculation at this point is really absurd and its not just on this one board but on several others within the past month. If we see a headline about KSL loosing its affiliation to KTVX from a reputable source, than that would be the time to go ahead and report it and have a discussion about potential implications of the deal. But until that happens, stop with this unnecessary speculation on any board that is not named the Speculatron 9000.

  2. Diane Sawyer was a press aide to President Nixon (and once thought to be a candidate for Woodward and Bernstein's "deep throat" informant), so CBS should've never hired her for 60 Minutes.

  5. I'm aware of that, but this particular cut hadn't surfaced before. Compare this and the first sample of KSNW using Great News to see what I mean.

  6. You can check NMSA and WBAL has done something like this when they were under "News 11."

  7. Discussion of the new graphics post-launch has been moved here: http://forums.tvnewstalk.net/index.php?threads/wabc-new-graphics.15431/ Again, people. General threads for things that don't warrant their own threads. New graphics is one of those things that deserves it's own thread.

  9. This GNP cue have been mixed with Hello & Turn To before. This is the first time I heard this same exact cue mixed with Pride Inside. Indeed a rarity.

  10. When they added her where? to GMA or The View? And Candace was hired as the conservative voice of the panel. Do you honestly think, they would put two conservative voices on there? Baloney. Barbara-whether one likes her or not, had been long established even before Paula probably began her career. Barbara's biases were evident, more so towards the end of her run on The View. That being said, I cannot remember a time when Barbara touted that she was a born-again Christian, conservative or even a liberal. One could assume which way Barbara leaned on the political spectrum based on how she reacted to topics/stories talked about on the show, but she never publicly acknowledged her political leanings.

  11. There has been a crapload of instability at The View for years now. Plus, the way their scheduling the panelists is big clue that they're looking at making changes. They hired Michelle as a full-time panelist, yet now, you only see her once or twice a month. Coincidence? I think not. Apples to Oranges...sort of. ABC News hired George knowing full well he had/has history with the Clintons and maybe to a certain extent his left-leaning views. As far as the $75k donation...big mistake, but ABC took the appropriate action needed. I doubt ABC hired Paula because she was a conservative, born-again Christian. Not to mention that Paula touts as being the "journalist" of the panel that tries to provide an unbiased perspective to things, yet, it's very evident what/where her biases are. I'm not saying she should be taken off The View for that, however, if she wants to use the conservative, Christian card, then she should not be allowed to reference herself as the journalist of the panel.

  12. That's amazing considering what WTCN had before "News 11." Agreed with what @sfomspphl said, one of the best turnarounds in television news. From last place to now I think in second or a strong third. I think KARE is beating KMSP in the ratings and possibly KSTP, considering that their local news operation has sunk in recent years.

  13. Looks like Fox 5 is really starting to make way for the arrival of Stephany Fisher (after being unemployed for almost a year)! Could their loss be 11 Alive's gain, or will Lisa take the Monica Pearson route and try her hand at radio (hopefully public station WABE)? By the way...Lisa's imminent departure doesn't mean I'm heading to WSB; with the exception of Craig Lucie, former Fox 5er Richard Belcher, Brad Nitz, and cutie pie Jodie Fleischer, they annoy the shit out of me (especially Justin Farmer; he's Charles Fedullo -- Fairbanks and Anchorage news anchor turned journalism professor turned PR guy -- from 20 years ago)!

  14. From the anchor himeself, Gabriel Sotelo / @gabosotelo05 on Instagram: "So los dias que faltan para la Copa Confederaciones mi estimado @itsroly. Que tengas excelente tarde!" Translation: "They are the days remaining for the Confederations Cup my estimate @itsroly. You have a great afternoon!" In others words... days till Telemundo airs LIVE sports coverage of the Conferations Cup, just like what TheRob said.
