  2. The whole concept of recycling CBS Evening News content from the previous night is ridiculous. If this is the best they can do they should simply turn it over to the affiliates.

  3. If "reporter in the building" is the same thing as I've seen popping up in other markets, it's basically someone stationed in the newsroom who covers news that comes in during the broadcast or is developing but not local or not big enough to warrant sending a live truck out. I figure it's either an attempt to keep from having to constantly feed the anchors in the studio new copy or a way of looking on the ball with breaking news.

  4. Yeah I saw that, it made no sense to me. Why didn't they just put in ads?

  5. Jose Diaz Balart is okay but I am worried about his political conflicts of interest. He comes from a political family and he is getting a top anchor job on Nightly News, bad optics especailly trying to cross mainstream viewers. Should've gave the job to a veteran like Peter Alexander or continue to rotation, there was nothing wrong with the rotation. I am a firm believer that jobs for "neutral" evening news program should not be given that easily. Hey it is one day a week and I figure that since he is 50 something years old, he won't be considered a real prospect for NBC long term more like a floater.

  7. But that's all TV news is now... Recycled crap from the day before. 10% might be new...but the rest is all folo-ups, wx, sports(old), and out of market bs. The network is supposed to toss to who???? The already budget stripped locals??? We saw how that worked in Baton Rouge today right???
