It's good, but they could be improved upon...namely the logo itself, and re-do the supers so they don't look like they're built off the old Limerick package. I guess the last thing Cleveland TV needs is another canned graphics package (except for WKYC...the Tegna-itis would be an improvement at this point)

It would be a shame of WOIO dumped those graphics this soon. It's the best package they've had since the days of 19 Action News. Nothing in Gray's current graphics portfolio would be nearly as good as the current gfx on WOIO.

Speaking of KPNX/KTAR, I don't think this 1970 promotional film featuring weatherman Frank Peddie has been ever posted in this thread; it provides a few interesting behind-the-scenes glimpses of the station half a century ago:

I know it's semantics, but no one knows when the pandemic is going to be "over." I don't think there's going to be a date on which people say "okay, we've won, back to normal." There will come a time when a vaccine is widely distributed, deaths and hospitalizations decrease, and the story is no longer the story of the day. But that will happen gradually. As has been mentioned, ABC has already begun positioning it to be a general news hour that doesn't rely on COVID coverage. I'm sure the program will continue as long as ABC is satisfied with its ratings or until they come up with a better idea.

Chuck beats them both. Despite Ernie's presence, FOX 5 is just awful in the ratings. Dana is close but Chuck is better and more legendary IMO than Dana but Ernie is right there too. Unfortunately for them, Bill (Ritter) has them all beat.

There's gonna be a little personal exposition here, but I'd been thinking all day about how to put into words just the impact Jerry Taft had on my path in life.

As I'd "threatened" in the non-news Classic Video thread, I've been in the process of pulling clips from tapes in the past few days and will continue to do so for the near term. Not a ton of news-related content to date, but I do have a couple of things to share from KTRK. The tease and intro to Live at Five, circa November 1989 at the tail end of the Bob Boudreaux-anchored era. He moved to weekends several months after this was recorded. The open had been updated several months prior to include Joe Diaz while Ed Brandon was in rehab, and this was an exceptionally brief period where the closed-captioning logo appeared before the station ID in the open. And just about a year prior (October 1988) there's this... A group of elementary school students, primarily from East and Southeast Houston, form the Challenger Children's Choir and sing the revamped Frank Gari image campaign that aired on the station at the time - "Houston's Coming Back". My previous channel had a :30 version featuring the anchors, and I had seen another 1:00 version uploaded in the past (perhaps by @compubit?) featuring clips from the Space Shuttle Discovery "Return to Flight" launch that occurred in September 1988. I've found the original version on one of my tapes from early that month that tends to fit the lyrics better and will post it when I get a chance.
