  1. New variant for ABC: Eh, could have been worse; but regardless I don't see anything that would justify this being worth the amount of money spent unless parent company Disney is in the mood of having money to burn at the moment.

  3. Which is kind of ironic seeing that Bob Chapek has become infamous (at least amongst fans of Disney's theme parks, like myself) for being a penny pincher, often being referred to as "Bob Cheapeck". It's like he's making all these cuts that have taken away a bit of the "magic" of going to the parks, but they have the money to spare on a logo change at ABC that's not really necessary at all, or even noticeable to the untrained eye.

  5. It's a shame Rita was essentially pushed out due to her shrinking role, but the writing was on the wall after they tweaked the teams when Michaela came onboard. Especially when Vanessa was reduced to zero after that and then Rita basically held onto the scraps that Vanessa had to begin with. I don't think Rita's exit is really wrongly timed considering sweeps calculations ended approximately when she posted her announcement. But Brooke is the new 'it' girl for GDLA so hopefully we don't see another cycling of anchors in 3 years. I wish Rita well.

  6. Another one I've wanted to figure out: the WPBN TVBD-era theme. It certainly sounds like more than production music. Bears a superficial resemblance to the WJBK "Major Theme" IMO.

  7. A look at KCTZ-7 Bozeman (now KBZK/CBS) just a few months after they signed on with ABC programming. Notice the bulletin board used for the 'ID'. Small town TV at its finest.

  8. Tampa Bay TV Weather Pioneer Roy Leep has passed away. He was 88. Leep worked at WTVT from 1957 to 1997. He was regarded as a leader in broadcast meteorology and pioneered radar and satellite observations along with tropical weather.
