  1. to my understanding, the news set and newsroom are practically done or close to being done. I just think CBS is tying a lot of loose ends. I do think the actual debut will be in December, latest in January.

  2. It's a very close Canadian Border Zone station and the allocation conflicts with CTV2's CIVI-2 up in Vancouver; CTV didn't want to move, petition would be denied (orange mark is CHEK on adjacent 16; same with KNDO).

  4. The News 9 Now subchannel is having major technical difficulties, can't even replay the main stations Noon show as well. This is all part of this move, they have to get the kinks worked out.

  5. As of this morning anchors are no longer social distancing and back to pre pandemic seating. That makes WABC the only station that has anchors still sitting further apart.. which if postings from the morning team are an indication that will be ending soon.

  6. Exactly. Good Day is where they know they have people and that’s where they focus. They got lucky with Lori but now they’re back to where they were.

  7. My theory has always been that Fox 5 evenings competes well enough with PIX11 that there isn’t an emphasis on investing there. Everything about the 5,6 and 10pm lacks inspiration. Aren’t they one of the few Fox owned stations that have never invested in an 11pm addition to the 10pm? It’s probably not entirely fair but they simply do not seem to take their evening side serious.

  8. The first night had a few bumps with the production control equipment. During the 5:30 p.m. newscast, there was about ten seconds of black screen between the open and the cut to the main set as well as a few issues with cueing between different studio shots. These issues were avoided during the 10:00, however they popped up again during the OK Sports Blitz (which is simulcast on KOTV, so Tulsa viewers got to see the TD issues as well): cutting to Dean Blevins in-studio seconds before the cue with no intro sequence, and being unable to cut to John Holcomb’s segments at the KOTV studios in Tulsa, a Thunder game report and other video packages during the opening segment (at least they cut Dean’s mic at the times Holcomb was supposed to appear, but you could see him getting a little impatient with the technical issues). A technical difficulties slide was shown in place of Segment B, and they had to fall back on KOTV’s PCR (with Blevins MIA and Holcomb mostly solo) for the rest of the program.
