  1. The issue in the newest allegations is not a matter of age and whether someone is adult enough to consent. The issue is a sexual relationship allegedly occurring between someone in a position of power and a subordinate, and allegations that sexual encounters took place on company property inside the office of the person in power. Even if that was fully consensual and the subordinate felt no pressure to engage in the relationship, that is a relationship that must be disclosed. In the case of TJ and Amy, neither are subordinates to the other, so there is no issue there. I have been fully supportive of TJ and Amy returning to air and ABC moving on from this. If the latest allegations are true, whether in part or in whole, then ABC should terminate TJ for cause and without any buyout offer. Unless Amy knew of the prior relationship with the subordinate and failed to report it, then I don’t see how ABC has a case to terminate her for cause, but do understand having her just sign a separation agreement with a buyout. It’s really unfortunate for both of them. Surely, they were both being eyed as the future of Good Morning America.

  2. Jaisol Martinez made her debut on the digital newscast tonight. She seems solid but it was the digital newscast so it's hard to tell. Phil offically retires March 1st so, Jaisol will most likely fill in until he leaves and then she takes his spot on weekend evenings. It's been 1 year since the digital newscasts debuted. The morning one is perfect but, the 7pm(aka the stream team/golden hour/hour of power) is not my cup of tea, but that's my opinion. Also with the 7pm newscast, Cheryl Burton's ditzy behavior is rubbing off on Rob and Greg affecting their other newscasts as well. Mark Giangreco is right about her, she is ditzy and should not be the lead anchor and Rob Elgas shouldn't be the lead anchor as well.

  3. I get it … FTV said today they’re down by half. The people left are probably burned out due to all the OT they’re being asked to work. Understandable in a small market, but not in Houston. Why the hell did they allow it to get that bad? Things aren’t anywhere as dire at any other large market station that I can think of. New ND and GM are both very experienced and have plenty of connections they could work to try to find people. They have (or had) one producer who arrived from tiny Lake Charles many years ago. Certainly there are others who would kill to make a jump like that. Better pay, larger city and a ton of fancy toys to make your shows better, such as their storm tracker and their chopper. Hopefully they can bring back the 4:30a show at some point. Dumping it makes them look weak and a bunch of people were complaining about it on social today, with some folks saying they were switching stations. You can’t help but think the numbers at 5a will drop at least some without local news as the leadin. If people get their start elsewhere each morning, many likely won’t switch when the clock strikes 5.
