  1. Montclair State will take over operations of NJ PBS starting in July https://www.montclair.edu/newscenter/2026/06/03/montclair-state-university-named-new-operator-of-new-jerseys-public-television-stations/
  2. How many newsmagazines have the other networks tired over the years? NBC had many before Dateline worked. ABC had many before 20/20 worked, after the first episode almost got the series cancelled. Fox I think has tired, but never really lasted more than one year. Heck, CBS even tired to make another version of 60 Minutes and couldn’t. Outside of PBS Frontline, which is more long form investigative journalism, 60 Minutes has been the one newsmagazine that has worked, never changed the format, and has had a major impact on journalism since the start of TV. Now they have had more EPs in the past 58 weeks than in the 58 years it has been on the air.
  3. This photo was taken at the start of Season 58 in the fall of 2025. 60 Minutes has never seen this type of downfall this fast.
  4. NBC licensed “NBC News Radio” to iHeart back in 2016 and they are the ones that take care of everything. https://www.nbcnewsradio247.com
  5. Sharyn Alfonsi is out at 60 Minutes https://www.reuters.com/business/media-telecom/cbs-news-declined-renew-contract-60-minutes-correspondent-who-clashed-with-bari-2026-05-27/
  6. Meanwhile, NBC became to the first broadcaster (foreign or domestic) to broadcasting from the Imperial Ancestral Hall. And CBS had to use a hotel in a different country. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DYXUI6GNPJD/?igsh=MW1meWRvcHJ0dWh0cQ==
  7. As they are now part of Gray and no longer Allen, WTHI made their first big announcement. The famous bow-tie is back. Kevin Orpurt is returning as Chief Meteorologist after being cut last year.
  8. How is international reporting going to be handled? Does Nexstar even have a plan anymore?
  9. For those who don’t know the history of RTV6, I’ll give you a little background. The station went on the air as WFBM-TV on May 30th, 1949, as Indiana’s first TV station. The first program was “Crucible of Speed,” a documentary about this little race called The Indianapolis 500. After the program ended, a live broadcast of The 500 followed. They started as CBS, went to NBC in ‘56, and ABC in ‘79. After the station was sold to McGraw-Hill, the call letters changed to the famous WRTV, or “We are TV,” in 1972. The station had many other first: record programming on video tape, news gathering on mini-cams, microwave relay trucks, satellite truck, digital news cameras, video on demand, website, mobile website, cable news channel, producing a newscast for a different station (WRTV6 News on WTTV4) and until the mid-80s, the number one station in the Indianapolis TV market. I could go on, but we don’t have the time or place really. Yes, RTV6 is not what it once was, but they were always proud of the history they started in Indiana. And all of that was gone in a matter of minutes.
  10. Circle City Broadcasting now owns RTV6 in Indy. And early word is, just about everyone at RTV6 minus a few people, won’t be around for the late news this evening.
  11. John Dickerson will make a return to the eye network Tuesday after the State of the Union on Colbert. LateNighter report
  12. Anderson Cooper is leaving 60 Minutes: USA Today
  13. Former NewsChannel5 meteorologist Bree Smith has filed a lawsuit against the station and Scripps for harassment. Nashville Banner article. Smith also announced today she will be working at WSMV 4 starting tomorrow.
  14. No, he is in Miami anchoring tonight. Since Miami isn’t really used that much, they probably don’t have a small set at the ready like LA.
  15. Along with a new anchor and format (that will last just as long as new Coke), CBS also updated their values from a 38 page hand book to a simple five. Meanwhile, PBS has had the same values/guidelines since Robert MacNeil was doing the show for half an hour.
