  1. KXAS will have 2½ hours a day to fill with the loss of Access Hollywood, Access Live, and Kelly Clarkson. My guess? An extra hour of NBC News Daily, a double run of daytime Dateline, and an extra ½-hour of local news at 6:30pm. (...not that I would know, I've heard nothing )
  2. They must be. I get pesky emails regularly from both of them asking me to order again, or put certain ordered items on autoship.
  3. Radio Insight is reporting that CBS News Radio will be closing down May 22. Another sad day for US media. https://radioinsight.com/headlines/343855/cbs-news-radio-to-shut-down-in-may/
  4. Oh, jeez, I forgot they added 6:30pm. I'm never up or watching then. Extra was previously in that slot.
  5. If my addition is right, I think this gives KDFW a weekday news amount of 11½ hours (not counting The Ten, their recent 10am addition helmed by some of their newsfolks, but definitely not a newscast; and not counting their overnight news repeat).
  6. Does all this affect Glendive's status as a Nielsen DMA? It would be interesting to see how ownership changes, loss of NBC, and viewership there makes Nielsen feel about the Glendive area.
  7. From the Tyler/Longview market comes news of the passing of Horace McQueen. He was the longtime host of Farm and Ranch News, an early morning staple on KLTV and KTRE in the years long before there were early morning shows. From cattle auction results to ads for Evergreen and Lone Star Feeds, local viewers were assured of a good dose of ag news. McQueen was 86.
  8. Art Cashin, who did double duty as a UBS executive, as well as a many-years-long analyst on CNBC, has passed at 83. Cashin was a well-respected, decades-long member of the New York Stock Exchange. Cheers, Mr. Cashin ... you will truly be missed. https://www.cnbc.com/amp/2024/12/02/art-cashin-new-york-stock-exchange-fixture-for-decades-dies-at-age-83.html https://www.reuters.com/world/art-cashin-wall-street-veteran-over-60-years-dies-age-83-2024-12-02/
  9. Actually, KFAA is just moving Estrella to 29.2 from 29.1.
  10. Devin is someone else who could have been interviewed for KLTV's anniversary special as he used to anchor for them. Happy retirement, Devin!
  11. This week, KLTV celebrates 70 years on the air. From its early years in an old airplane hangar, to the present in a former savings & loan headquarters branch, the station has had many stories to tell. Here's KLTV's 70th anniversary special: https://www.kltv.com/2024/10/14/kltv-celebrates-70-years-air-with-anniversary-special/
  12. Doug Dunbar has solo-anchored newscasts at KTVT off/on in the past. I haven't heard whether KTVT has solo-anchor plans for any of their other newscasts outside of their morning news.
  13. I'm guessing poor little lonely Glendive is still at #210. Big jump in 1 years' time for Tyler-Longview. And 134,000 more HH in DFW--understandable, with the amount of people that are moving there.
  14. I'm afraid you're right. Lots of changes since the Belo sale. They will probably try to spin otherwise during their upcoming anniversary special. I don't think WFAA has ever aired a court show before, if they have, I don't remember it.
  15. That's gonna be weird to only have 1 all-news station (WINS 1010/92.3) in NYC. Very sad for WCBS, after all the decades they've been around. I guess they'll have a big on-air sendoff, like WNBC did in the 80s when they flipped to WFAN.
