  2. https://www.fox13seattle.com/news/fox-13-seattle-new-broadcast-studio-axis9-2026 SEATTLE - Lake Washington Partners (LKWP) and FOX Television Stations today announced that the FOX-owned Seattle duopoly, KCPQ FOX 13 and KZJO FOX 13+ will relocate its broadcast and newsroom operations to Axis9, the newly redeveloped 16-story office tower located at 1800 9th Avenue in Seattle’s Denny Triangle. The station is expected to begin broadcasting from the new facility in November 2026.

  3. Not to mention, their outgoing facility was a leaseback set up under Tribune when they sold the building 2016ish as they prepared to cease existing as a company - likely negotiated for maximum cash up front for Tribune and higher monthly payments for the duration of the lease. Also appears they're downsizing square footage substantially as well.

  4. Downtown Seattle has a TON of vacant office space. I'm sure they're getting a good deal. The other three stations have very visible locations in the core of the city: KOMO across from the Space Needle; KIRO a few blocks away in Belltown; KING across the street from the baseball stadium. KCPQ has been the least-visible of the four. They'll now be closest to the interstate, but those blocks are often pretty gridlocked. Not sure it will get them out of the city any faster during breaking news.

  5. I have a combo VHS/DVD recorder that has an HDMI output to an OSEE video switcher with an SD card recorder. For my SVHS tapes, I have a separate S VHS VCR that plugs into the S-video input. There's also a firewire input that I can input my mini DV tapes from my camcorder. I also have a separate Magnavox DVD / HDD recorder that has certain content on it, it also has an HDMI output that I can output to the switcher/encoder. The DVDs are mostly able to be encoded through HandBrake (in SD), but for anyone that have to be played back manually I run them through the same VHS/DVD combo or whichever DVD player I can get them to work on. The only drawback is any of my 4x3 content is stretched to 16x9, so I have to go into Adobe Premiere to correct the aspect ratio back to 4x3. Any of my HD content that was recorded in SD is already in 16x9 so I don't have to correct the aspect ratio when I edit it down.

  6. That's just for the graphics. I think every CBS O&O is switching to that style but keeping the same brandings in place. In this case, its still WBZ News. EDIT: What I mean is the black box logo that some stations still have and I think they're trying to get rid of it once and for all, though stations like KOVR, KDKA, etc. may still go by what they call for already.

  9. For those unaware, yesterday was the PBS Newshour's last program with Newshour West, the West Coast bureau located in Phoenix with ASU (and KAET Arizona PBS), due to all these budget cuts we've been talking about lately. ASU decided not to renew, and therefore, the bureau came to an end. https://www.statepress.com/article/2025/12/politics-pbs-newshour-west-closure

  10. I'm not talking just the box... They seem to want to go by "WBZ News Boston" and leaving the "CBS News Boston" as the title for the streaming side. Good catch! I did not notice that. It's still unfortunate that the bug is so huge. I know they wanted it to be the same size as the network (special reports and the CBS Evening News with Norah O'Donnell) and the streaming (formerly called CBS News) but there's just so much wasted space.
