  2. I know this board loves to hate everything, but I'm going to point out things I actually like. Y'all need to put these things into perspective of Tegna's history. They have never been stellar at in-house set design - Honestly, this a studio I wish WHAS would get. They are way overdue and I think were one of the first stations to get the Tegna V1 cookie cutter. - I was surprised to see graphical and musical updates (unless they've already had them and I didn't know). Not what I would expect given an impending sale to Nexstar. Also, if the music means the a Capella crap is finally done then I am all aboard. - The set, though admittedly a bit sterile, works. It might be a little dark, but overall the lighting isn't overpowering (which studio talent probably appreciates) Yes, it isn't perfect. The apparent acoustic sound panels feel slapped in there as an afterthought to break up the big white walls and may have been better if they filled the entire space (it would also have added unique texture).

  4. I'd be loving the new CBS Evening News look if I was in a total vacuum and knew nothing about what Skydance and Bari Weiss have done to the place. They had a good thing with Scott Pelley. Too bad it was the old boys' club that messed that up. It's been a dumpster fire ever since. And that was before the latest chapter with Bari Weiss and Tony Dokoupil. The stunts he's pulled in the last few days are almost as up there as the shenanigans that got Megyn Kelly bounced from the Today Show. Someone check on the graves of Edward R. Murrow, William Paley and Walter Cronkite, because they are likely spinning at a furious pace right now. (Douglas Edwards as well, but he was cremated)

  5. I mean, The Onion ran this satirical "ad" in its print edition in December. https://www.facebook.com/TheOnion/posts/pfbid024saN4i8FSPSCTbrztDZTHqNQJuwN7pjUebkL8hmzAN6vpAfzHeszfJEsMu5f72V5l

  6. The desk, the theme, the set, the graphics…not a bit of that matters. The network has gone full-on North Korea mode with slobbering over the administration.

  7. This has nothing to do with how many people donated to the actual public media entities, or any policy changes. The CPB board decided back on December 10th to dissolve, as their original plan, maintaining its legal existence but not doing anything in anticipation of Congress giving them money again someday, was deemed unviable. CPB was never anything more than a funnel from the government to the broadcasters, who are mostly still operating with less money, and it never spoke on the behalf of public media, who have their own lobbying operations.

  8. In tie with John DeLuca's departure, it looks like this is the new logo for "WLNE" and say goodbye to "ABC 6" (WJAR 10.2). Its "Coastal ABC" now. They have quickly changed their social media presence to include the new logo.

  9. Apparently Nate Burelson is expected to be out as CBS Mornings undergoes a major overhaul with Gayle and Tony rumored to be taking new assignments.
