  1. Today is May 12th, 2026. Tonight is the 40th anniversary of the current NBC peacock logo. One of the most famous broadcasting logos that has ever existed all got started on NBC's 60th Anniversary Special. It has served television greatly since and has become NBC's most famous logo, as it still has staying power after 40 years as of today. For those who don't know, the six feathers represent (at the time of launch) different divisions NBC had. Yellow = NBC News Orange = NBC Sports Red = NBC Entertainment Violet = NBC Stations Blue = NBC Network Green = NBC Productions IMHO, its become my favorite logo in all of U.S. broadcasting, and I love, still to this day, how colorful and vivid the logo looks. Yes, it's had a few moderations and updates over the years, but to me, nothing beats the original. Happy 40th Anniversary to the current NBC peacock logo.

  2. Going to miss the CBS stations "ding" which denotes the top of the hour. I listen on KNX Los Angeles.

  3. It all feels very temporary, doesn't it? (It probably is!) I read on Status.news (Oliver Darcy's website) that Brad Smith is only filling in at 5am, presumably until CNN decide what they want to do with that slot in the long term. I think there's work being done to the studio at CNN London, because there's been no output from there for about two weeks now. (Everything has been done from flash sets, or in Amanpour's case, from her home!) I'm wondering if they'll return that 4am hour to London once the revamped studio is ready.

  4. This announcement was made back in March. But today is Rhonda Shelby's last day at KATU Portland after a wonderful 32 year run, having first joined in 1993 when it was still with Fisher Communications.

  5. Chris just posted on Facebook confirming he is moving back to South Jersey. With that being said, I still don't see how he would end up at 6abc again, since they have no openings. Some people on FB said he could work with Nor'easter Nick, which seems more probable to me. Does 29 have any spots? Someone said that Cecily is planning on moving to GMA and Chris could move back to 6, but I have no idea where they got that from and I'm assuming it's pure speculation.

  6. KETV Omaha's Samantha Pastorino, the station's weekday morning traffic reporter, will be heading back to work soon after being hit TWICE by two separate drivers in two separate instances back in March. Its a PSA for when you're behind the wheel to PUT YOUR PHONE DOWN. I will never understand why you have to call or text someone while behind the wheel. Its distracting and so irresponsible. https://www.ketv.com/article/omaha-ketv-samantha-pastorino-recovering-crashes/71221607

  7. I'm guessing WTVR will be the next station to get the new graphics, or will it just go in a random order?

  8. This one is really sad. Cynthia spent nearly three decades at KSHB, and was one of the longest-serving employees there. A true figure and legend of Kansas City and championing the city through thick and thin. She will be missed there and I hope other stations will recognize her.

  10. Based on looking at bios, it appears Duarte Geraldino and Briella Tomasetti are both also gone from the channel.
