  1. These recordings of Linda are so depressing.
  2. Confirmed. The promos that they recorded yesterday for the morning news say, "Demetrius has your forecast, Monday from 4-6 A.M."
  3. Looks like they gave Mark and Micah off tonight in preparation for the 10 PM news. Not sure if they're doing last minute rehearsals behind the scenes or if they're totally off today.
  4. They just announced at the end of the midday newscast that today was Tom's last day on that newscast, and he'll only be doing the Evening, Nine, and Ten newscasts going forward. Demetrius is taking over the Midday news. Any idea what this means for the 4-6 AM news? I haven't heard.
  5. I'm glad they gave Linda such a fitting goodbye. She truly deserves it. She's been such a fun and inspirational host for so many years. The best part was when Linda and Micah did tricep dips together at the news desk. So hilarious! Micah was having a blast!
  6. I've updated my avatar, as well. Here's hoping Linda finds some other sort of on-camera work in the future. I'm gonna miss her dearly.
  7. Lower third for Dana Kozlov right now just read "Dana Kovloz". What the heck...
  8. Actually, I think it's the second. I saw him on the mothership a few weeks ago. Interestingly, he didn't stick around for the 9pm news. To my shock, Dan Roan actually came in on a Saturday to do the 9pm.
  9. Mike Hamernik (or "Mike Hammernik" as the lower third said) is filling in for Tom tonight this morning on the WGN News at 12:30 AM.
  10. NBC 5 has Brant, Byron, and Pete on tonight as opposed to the standard team of Brant and Alicia that they used earlier this year for storm coverage.
  11. I just played it back on my DVR. Kathy actually said that they'd talk more about the set in the weeks to come. Welp, that all but confirms that they're getting an entirely new set.
  12. Kathy just said that they're gonna talk about the changes to the State Street Studio later in tonight's newscast. Sounds like they're building an entirely new set, perhaps?
  13. Is it the same temp set as last time with the 2006-2014 daytime background?
  14. Oh, the 3 PM Maury is the new one? I wouldn't know the difference, as I angrily change the channel every time that trash show comes on.
  15. Isn't it taking over the extra Maury slot that they currently have in the afternoon? (Probably the 3 PM one)
  16. WGN tasked Sean Lewis with filling in for Mark Suppelsa on the 9 PM news Friday night, which I'm sure was quite the honor for him. It seems his stock at WGN is rising. He had a long feature report on the 9PM news earlier in the week, and now he was given a shot to anchor the big show, as well. This fill-in task doesn't excuse Sean from his normal duties, however, as at the end of the newscast, he said that he'd see us all in a few hours for the WGN Morning News at 6 AM, at which point fellow fill-in anchor Dina Bair gave him a sympathetic pat on the back since Sean wasn't exactly going to be getting much sleep overnight, if any.
  17. So Dan Hampton left WMAQ, eh? Didn't realize that.
  18. WGN is doing tag-team coverage tonight with Jim Ramsey in the Weather Center and Mike Hamernik at the chroma key, plus an inset radar map over the bug and constant warning crawl.
  19. Wait, what two-anchor shot with Cheryl Burton?
  20. So no closing music and copyright notice?
  21. During the week when Brant was off in June, yes, he did the 11AM show in addition to all of Brant's shows.
  22. Mark shouldn't have had to apologize at all there. There's no apology needed in a life-or-death situation.
  23. Mike Hamernik needs a black cover for that iPad he's using at the key wall. The green light is reflecting off the shiny back of the iPad and is keying out the iPad.
