  1. FWIW, KYW 1060 has changed their theme/open ... I can hear 1060 here in Harrisburg area on most days and I caught the bottom hour and it was very different. Still the KYW singlature tho. -- Matt
  2. Love that mashup. The KYW 1060 is so iconic. -- Matt
  3. Look who's back in the HLLY market. Al Gnoza. For those who forget, last year, while at cross-street rival ABC27, Al said during a report of Three Mile Island (Remember March 1979 anyone) and Al said, "If you hear sirens, we are all gonna die". That got him fired from the number 2 station in the HLLY. For some reason, people got upset. They revolted. They were upset. Now he's at cbs21. Yet another reason why Sinclair is the dump of the Earth. -- Matt
  4. Sorry for being negative here ... but I still think ABC 2000 was better than this oversized GMA lovefest. Peter Jennings ... I can only imagine what he is thinking right now. That theme!! Still one of the best ... ever. -- Matt
  5. It does look so much better than the Sincrap package. Well done WKTV. -- Matt
  6. Apologies for bumping the thread ... but WGAL got the biggest update to the current news gfx package yet. New open, New talent open, new cuts from Strive package, modified logo ... and the biggest yet (and something I suggested for YEARS for them) ... the NBC logo on the L3's (you won't see that on the online video tho for some reason). Here is the video from News 8 Today. http://www.wgal.com/nowcast Well done WGAL. Have to get used to the new Strive cuts, but they did very good with this update. -- Matt
  7. I'm a Cowboys fan, so you can probably imagine my reaction to the NBC10/CSN deal. Waste of money. Do they deserve to be on TV?? Sure. Public access overnight. -- Matt
  8. A very bittersweet day here in the SusquValley as 42-year veteran of WHTM-TV, Chuck Rhodes, the dean of weather forecasting ... is retiring. It is effective April 30th. On a personal note, he was the one that helped my interest in weather. I would be remiss to not say that I'm sad to hear this news. But to everything there is a time, season for everything. I wish him the best. Class act. Class talent. Great guy. http://abc27.com/2015/04/02/chuck-rhodes-announces-plan-for-retirement/ -- Matt
  9. Good point. I never heard of that site. Good work gumshoe. -- Matt
  10. Haha ... yeah. Maybe it is a new logo. So, I checked Wiki and the old bland logo is there. Maybe I have an exclusive on something. Haha. -- Matt
  11. Caught this on the 6ABC online feed this evening. Anyone know what this PHL logo is?? I Know it's for Philadelphia. Could this be a new logo for PHL17?? I thought that it might be the tourism logo for Philadelphia, but it's not. -- Matt
  12. For me, as a dog lover, the only thing that saved that was Wrangler. I LOVE THAT PUP!!!! Excuse me please, I need a moment. I just saw Kathie Lee on the screen ... /grabs puke bucket -- Matt
  13. So, Matt Lauer wants the TODAY tradition to continue to cocktail hour at 10AM?! Well Played Mayans. -- Matt
  14. Still waiting on WHP/WLYH to get the new graphics package ... -- Matt
  15. I miss that theme and that open. 17 years old and that still is one of the best TV news themes ... ever. And that open, iconic. -- Matt
  16. Sorry, but this Social Square thing is a bit tacky ... Yeah, I'm all over social media, but come on. Social Slot Machine?! Jeez. -- matt
  17. That KAVU open is pretty sad.
  18. http://lancasteronline.com/article/local/853408_New-WGAL-skipper-on-course-for-growth.html An interesting article on WGAL's new GM ... from the article ... "Shortly after taking the job late last fall, Humphries said in a company press release, "I feel like someone gave me the keys to the Bentley and said don't bring it back with a scratch on it." -- matt
