  1. I don't know. Tammie was good at her job, but I don't think she clicked with viewers here. "You're going to need the rain slickers today...", that's just one example. The other thing was getting the chief title from "Hurricane". I know that was a management decision, but I think that didn't sit well with viewers as well. These are just my opinions, I would love to hear yours.

Also, guesses on the next 4,6, &11 meteorologist?

  2. Kinda odd isn't it to be interviewed by a rival television station?

I knew I wasn't crazy when I saw them promoting this in their morning newscast

A person on Facebook posted this answer:

"Erin & Lisa were on Preston & Steve yesterday. They asked why NBC 10 was doing a report on a 6 ABC person. NBC 10 has been doing many reports about drug addiction highlighting how everyone is effected by it. So Erin read Lisa's book and felt it was bigger and people needed to hear about it. Listen to P&S podcast from 11/14."

  3. I really like Tammie's demeanor, style, and balance. Tammie definitely brings a calm nature, not rushed like some of the other ones on the team.

Not sure if it's just me, but I've noticed some of 10's Mets go overboard on numbers instead of delivering what's going on and they run out of time because of it.

As far as Chief, I can definitely see that once Hurricane retires, whenever that will be, and I think it'd be a good move.

  4. I was home tonight for the first time in a while and decided to catch Fox 29 News at 10. One thing though call me off guard was them playing different songs as they we're going to commercial breaks.

Just just curious to know how long they have been doing this and what do you guys think of this idea? I know 29 tends to be different.

  5. Wow! Didn't see this coming at all. WRC will have 2 great, talented, and young meteorologists. (They're building a nice team down there.)

I know there's still 2 months to look at options, but what does 10 do now? Look at TWC and bring in someone from there? Look to familiar faces such as Amy Freeze to lure back to town? Or other options?

  6. With Congressman Chaka Fattah being indicted today, and his wife, NBC 10 anchor Renee Chenault-Fattah also reportedly named in some connection to the cases, does this mean this could spell the end of her anchoring career? It would be such a shame if so. According to the on air announcement, she is currently on leave from the station.

  7. Good move for Ukee. Well deserved! I'm surprised they kept Dean. A Ukee and Natasha Brown paring would have been really good in my opinion. Kate Bilo was the best choice of the remaining weather people there. And since Carol is leaving, we'll see how quickly they'll hire 2 meteorologists. The sports department, it would be nice to see LVA get the Sports Director job. Would they try and pull talent from WIP to help fill in the sports roster?

  8. "Hurricane" was doing the morning show this morning for Bill Henley. I noticed they cater more toward Sheena Parveen to being the main weather anchor than Glenn, even though he's "Chief Meteorologist". I know 10's weather team are team players, but can someone explain the dynamic of the team?

  9.

Savannah is anchoring tonight. Lester is out because of a family emergency.

Will it be audition week on Nightly News?

This has obviously come up because of personal matters so Savannah better do a good job tonight if she wants to be considered; it might be her only chance to woo NBC executives.

Lester is the best person for the duration of Williams' suspension. He already has a command of the show and the show's tone doesn't skip a beat. To ask viewers to get used to someone new is asking alot. Now, If they're for the interim Weekend Nightly News spot while Lester fills in weekdays, then that's something different.

  10.

They have five mets, really - they dropped the "AccuWeather team" bit and strictly refer to Karen Rogers as traffic nowadays.

I don't think the first choice is WABC, because they do use Cecily and Adam pretty heavily if there's a big weather story. They're also more telegenic (IMO) than most of the WABC staff. (I'd argue Amy Freeze as the big exception, of course.)

Amy Freeze, who did very well here in Philadelphia during her tenure here. Philly is a good breeding ground for meteorologists that connect well with audiences. If GMA used any of the 3, they'd do very well, although I think Cecily would much rather stay in Philly.

  11. 4am-7am: Stick to one team. Stability is a big key in this town. Vai nor Chris cuts it for me in the morning though. Keith Jones was the masterful fit in the morning, but is making good on his promotion. I'd rather see Rosemary Connors and Tracy Davidson together. That one week where she filled in for Vai was very good. Also when she filled in for Denise Nakano & Chris Cato this weekend evening, by herself, she did wonderful. I think she, as with Natasha Brown at 3, is underutilized and wish they'd use her more, or she'd get away the same way Kristen Welker did.

    11am: Renee & "Hurricane".
