It's official, KPRC has dropped the Local 2 brand, and called it KPRC 2. Their newscasts is now called KPRC Channel 2 News. In my opinion, I wish KPRC would call themselves NBC 2 and bring back News2Houston.

Two big names are hanging up the mike. FOX 2 KTVI's Tom O'Neal is retiring on April 10th. O'Neal has been on St. Louis airwaves for 40 years, and he has been at KTVI for 25 years, he started working at KTVI since 1990 after working cross-town KSDK. Vic Faust will succeed him as anchor April 13. http://www.adweek.com/tvspy/tom-oneal-retiring-from-ktvi-station-hires-replacement/140338 Melissa Long of ABC station WPTA/Fort Wayne is also retiring. Long started working at WPTA in 1992 as freelance reporter before being promoted to morning co-anchor, she's been the stations evening anchor since 1995. Long says she'll retire at the end of this year, no replacement has named at this time. http://www.adweek.com/tvspy/anchor-melissa-long-retiring-from-wpta/140330

No doubt about it. Larry's a fighter, and humanitarian, and North Carolina institution. Say a prayer for Larry and for his family, and for that we say thanks for the company, and God Bless.

Two huge departures tops the Comings & Goings. JC Hayward, a 43 year veteran at Washington DC's WUSA-TV is retiring. Hayward is credited with being the market's first female anchor starting back in early 1972. http://www.wusa9.com/story/news/local/2015/01/23/tv-anchor-jc-hayward-retires-from-wusa9/22214599/ And the long-time meteorologist at Chicago's WLS-TV is out. Meteorologist Mike Caplan has been let go at ABC 7 Chicago after 21 years at the ABC O&O. WLS has five full time meteorologists and one per diem (including new hire Cheryl Scott) and had to let one of them go. https://www.facebook.com/michael.c.caplan/posts/10203737276287816?pnref=story

My opinion, close up shop on the view. Cancel the show and just add either game shows or soap operas to the schedule.

First, if CBS 19 drops the "Action News" brand, they can re-brand as CBS19 News or 19 Eyewitness News. Anyway, WISH- TV8 Investigator Reporter/Anchor Karen Hensel is gone from from the new CW affiliate. Her bio from the stations site is gone. http://ftvlive.com/todays-news/2015/1/6/out-the-door-in-indianapolis

There never be another broadcaster, a communicator, a local Detroit icon like Bill Bonds. Bill's a legend, a fighter, an institution, and Bonds was The King of Detroit Television News and they called him The King for good reasons because he was, and still is the best to this day. TVNewsTalk would like to extend our prayers and condolences to the family of Bill Bonds and to his friends and colleagues at 7 Action News. Bonds stands for Detroit and 7 Still Stands for News. Rest in Peace Bill, and Godspeed.
