  11. Sad news to report, Dr. James "Red" Duke has passed away today. Dr. Duke is famous for his syndication medical reports from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. Dr. Duke was 86. KWTX has hired a new 10pm anchor, Tara Mergener who worked as a freelance correspondent for CBS, CNN and Hearst Television in Washington will join Gordon, Rusty, and Ed on the anchor desk at Ten.   22. Sad news out of New Orleans, former longtime WWL Meteorologist Don Westbrook passed away after a brief illness on Monday. Westbrook whose destinctive voice both WWL-TV weather forecasts and commercials for the TV station and various clients during his 39-year career, Westbrook retired from WWL in 1999. Don Westbrook survived by his daughters, Diane and Laura; a brother; and two grandchildren.   25. I'm sure if you grew up in the Buffalo, NY area; you properly remember Van Miller. The legendary voice of the Buffalo Bills and longtime Sports Director at CBS station WIVB died yesterday evening. Van was the play-by-play voice of the Bills for 37 years and worked at WIVB (then WBEN) for 43 remarkable years before retiring in 1998. Van survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Gloria, daughter Cathy, and son Van Jr. and three grandchildren. TVNewsTalk would like to take this time to offer our sincere condolences and prayers to Van Miller's family and to our friends and colleagues at WIVB News 4. Van Miller was 87.
