  8. There's a new chief meteorologist at CBS 11 (KTVT) and his name is Scott Padgett. Five months after Larry Mowry left for Chicago (WLS-TV), the station decided that instead of a nationwide search for Larry's replacement; they chose Scott to take the helm as lead weatherman for the stations 5, 6 & 10PM newscasts.   14. According to FTVLive, Dispatch Broadcast Group is looking to sell WTHR (NBC) Indianapolis, IN and WBNS (CBS) Columbus, OH. Word is that TEGNA, Hearst, or Tribune have shown interest in both stations. However, Tribune already owns a station in Indianapolis (WTTV/WXIN), so you can cross Tribune out of the running to buy WTHR. If I have a vote, I put my money on TEGNA on purchasing WTHR and/or WBNS.   16. Big changes at KYTX. Gillian (Kirk) Sheridan is moving to the mornings with co-anchor Clint Yeatts later in the fall, both Yeatts and Sheridan worked at KLTV back in the 90's and 2000's. Current morning anchor Dana Hughey will move the 5:00PM newscasts, while newcomers Tashara Parker (KAGS-NBC) and Bryan Boes (Former WICS Sports Anchor).   17. First we lost Stuart Scott to cancer two years ago, and now we lost John Saunders. Two big giants of ESPN and SportsCenter. Rest in Peace and Godspeed.
  18. Another change in Texas broadcasting, this time in Waco. First KCEN-TV is back of being KCEN-HD News to now Channel 6 News, and now a legendary Central Texas news anchor is scaling back her anchoring duties. Ann Harder of Waco's KXXV ABC 25 is stepping down from the 10PM newscast after 20 years of working the Nightbeat, but will continue to anchor the newscasts 5 & 6PM.   23. Twp big departures to report courtesy of TVSpy. WRTV 6 (ABC) main anchor Todd Connor is out after six years. The Indianapolis Business Journal reported that Connor's contract was not renewed. KCBS Chief Meteorologist/reporter Josh Rubenstein is leaving the CBS O&O station for job as Public Information Director for LAPD. Rubenstein has been with KCBS for 19 years since 1997.

  25. KHOU 11 News reporter Kevin Reece who spent nine years at the Houston's CBS affiliate is joining WFAA.
